Terminator: Survivors has no officially confirmed character-selection screen or selectable playable roster in the information currently available. There is no verified “best character” to choose. The documented choices are how you approach encounters—such as stealth or combat—and which weapons and tools you use.
Does Terminator: Survivors let you choose a character?
Official descriptions reviewed do not confirm that players select a named character, choose between playable avatars, or pick a character build. The Steam listing describes playing as a survivor after Judgment Day and meeting both familiar and original characters. Meeting characters does not mean those characters are playable or selectable.
That means a character tier list or recommendation would be speculation. Until the developer confirms a roster or shows the selection mechanics, there is no established character choice to make.
What gameplay choices are documented?
The available descriptions point to decisions about your approach rather than a character’s fixed abilities. The developer has described options including firearms, makeshift explosives, specialized technology, and stealth. These are ways to handle encounters; they are not evidence that different characters have unique stats, skills, or starting gear. The Steam page also describes close- and long-range combat, exploration, and story investigation.

- Exploration and story: The game is described as an open-world story set after Judgment Day, with Skynet machines as a threat.
None of these descriptions establishes that your choices depend on a selected character or that one approach is stronger than another.
Is co-op part of the current plan?
In an official update dated 16 December 2025, Creative Director Marco Ponte said the team had put cooperative multiplayer aside after internal testing and player discussions. The same update said the game would not launch in 2025 and that no new release date had been set. You can read the official Steam Community update archive for the developer’s announcement.

The PlayStation Store listing describes solo or co-op play, but that storefront copy should not be treated as the latest multiplayer plan in light of the later developer update. Co-op availability remains unconfirmed in the current plan described by the developer.

- Wait for official character information. Look for a confirmed playable roster, character-selection footage, or a developer explanation of how characters differ before relying on a guide or tier list.
- Check the release status. Steam currently lists the release date as “To be announced,” so timing and availability may change. See the Steam product page for its current listing.
- Check the specific edition and retailer. Nacon lists physical and digital editions, including a physical PlayStation 5 edition, on its publisher product page. That does not establish that a particular retailer has stock or that the game is currently purchasable.
For now, base expectations on the documented survival gameplay and encounter approaches, not on an assumed character system.
