To evolve Eevee in Pokémon GO, you need 25 Eevee Candy and the right condition for the form you want. Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are random if you evolve without a special condition; Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon each have a repeatable requirement. Before you spend Candy, check the evolution icon on Eevee’s summary page to confirm the game is offering your intended form.
How to get Eevee in Pokémon GO
Eevee’s availability can change with the game’s current events and encounter pools. Niantic’s help information does not establish a permanent spawn rate, Egg pool, or event schedule, so there is no reliable year-round route to promise. Check the in-game map and current event announcements for encounters, and review an Egg’s eligibility information before hatching it.

Once you have Eevee, you need 25 Eevee Candy for any of its eight evolutions. Niantic explains that a Pokémon’s summary page shows its Candy requirement, Evolve button, and any additional task it needs. See Niantic’s guide to evolving Pokémon.
How to get each Eevee evolution
The method depends on which evolution you want. Special conditions can make a result predictable; without one, an ordinary evolution gives you a random result from the three original forms.

The specific Eevee requirements in the table are reported by Pokémon GO Hub’s Eevee evolution guide. Niantic’s support pages explain that some evolutions require tasks or Lure Modules and that the relevant details appear on the Pokémon’s summary page; the individual Eevee thresholds above are not specified in those official pages. How to check the evolution before spending Candy
- Open Pokémon storage and select the Eevee you plan to evolve.
- On its summary page, check that it has 25 Eevee Candy available and that you have met the requirement for the form you want.
- Look at the evolution icon on the Evolve button. If it does not show your intended evolution, do not tap the button yet; continue meeting the condition or wait until the right time or Lure is active.
- Tap Evolve only when the displayed form is the one you want.
Niantic says the summary page displays additional evolution tasks when they apply. The icon is a useful final check because it lets you distinguish a qualifying evolution from an ordinary, random one before committing Candy.

What the Eevee nickname trick does—and its limit
A Pokémon GO Hub guide reports that nicknaming Eevee can guarantee a chosen evolution once per evolution per account. Treat this as a one-time shortcut, not a repeatable method; the usage limit is reported by the independent guide rather than established in Niantic’s cited support pages. Check the evolution icon in the game before relying on a nickname or spending Candy.

- Lowest effort, but random: An ordinary 25-Candy evolution has no walking, Buddy Heart, time-of-day, or Lure condition, but it can produce only a random Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon.
- Walking and timing: Espeon and Umbreon require Buddy walking and the appropriate time of day.
- Location and item: Leafeon and Glaceon require proximity to a PokéStop with the corresponding active Lure Module.
- Buddy progress: Sylveon requires 70 Buddy Hearts with that Eevee.
