Discovery has been reported as acknowledging a second Hogwarts Legacy installment in its Q2 2026 shareholder-letter materials. That reference does not give the sequel an official title, release date, platforms, or story details. Here is what has been reported—and what remains unannounced.
Is Hogwarts Legacy 2 confirmed?
Game Informer reported on August 17, 2026, that Warner Bros. Discovery referred to “the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy” in its Q2 2026 shareholder-letter materials. The report describes this as confirmation of a sequel, but the reported reference does not supply a formal title. The company’s Q2 2026 results page lists the results and shareholder letter; the exact wording is attributed here to Game Informer’s account of those materials, rather than presented as a passage independently verified from the letter. When will Hogwarts Legacy 2 come out?
No release date, year, or release window was given in the sequel reference reported by Game Informer. A predicted year should not be treated as confirmed news; there is not enough information in that report to establish when the game will launch.
What platforms will Hogwarts Legacy 2 be on?
No sequel platforms have been announced in the inspected report. The original game’s wide availability does not confirm compatibility for a follow-up.

For context only, Warner Bros. Games’ official FAQ lists the original Hogwarts Legacy for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Warner Bros. Games separately announced that the original game launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025 (launch announcement). These are first-game releases, not a platform list for the sequel.
What is the story of Hogwarts Legacy 2?
No sequel plot, characters, or cast details were disclosed in the reported reference. The original game is an open-world action role-playing game set in the 1800s wizarding world, in which a player-character attends Hogwarts and uncovers a hidden truth, according to the official FAQ. Those details describe the first game and should not be assumed to be the sequel’s premise.
