FICO says it plans to eliminate approximately 15% of positions across the company. The credit-scoring company disclosed the restructuring in a Form 8-K filed October 6, 2026, after management committed to the plan on October 1. Employee notifications began the week of October 5. FICO has not disclosed an exact number of affected employees or identified specific leaders, teams, or locations.

How many FICO jobs could be affected?

FICO’s filing gives the planned reduction as approximately 15% of positions across the company, but does not provide a headcount. Reuters reported that FICO had 3,811 employees at the end of September 2025 and estimated that the reduction could affect about 570 workers. That figure is Reuters’ estimate, not a number disclosed by FICO, and it draws on the earlier employee count.

FICO’s filing states: “This plan involves the elimination of approximately 15% of positions across the Company.”

Why is FICO restructuring?

FICO says the plan is intended to reduce organizational layers, simplify its operating structure, optimize processes and tools, and integrate AI-driven product development. Those are the company’s stated aims; the filing does not explain how AI will affect particular roles or say that AI alone caused the planned job cuts.

When will notifications and layoffs take place?

FICO says affected employees began receiving notifications during the week of October 5, 2026. The company expects the plan to be substantially complete by the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2027. That date is a forward-looking estimate, not confirmation that the reductions have been completed.

What will the restructuring cost?

FICO expects approximately $27.0 million in pretax charges in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, primarily for severance and related costs. The company says substantially all of those charges are expected to result in future cash expenditures.

Which FICO leaders, teams, or locations are affected?

The October 6 filing does not name managers, identify affected departments, or specify locations. It describes a company-wide position reduction, so more detailed conclusions about who or where will be affected are not established by the disclosure.

How does this compare with FICO’s earlier job cuts?

FICO’s fiscal 2025 Form 10-K separately reported employee-separation costs of $10.9 million associated with eliminating 226 positions during that fiscal year. That was a prior event, distinct from the plan announced in October 2026.
