There is no verified universal best team or official role chart established for FAIRY TAIL Wizard Chronicle. To build a lineup, start with the stage you want to clear, read each character’s skill text and targets in the current game, then test whether the skills work together against that encounter.

Make sure you are looking at the right game

This guide is about FAIRY TAIL Wizard Chronicle, the mobile role-playing game—not Koei Tecmo’s separate console game based on the same franchise. The console game’s manual describes its own team customization, character skills, bonds, and Lacrima; those systems should not be assumed to apply to Wizard Chronicle.

The US Apple App Store listing describes Wizard Chronicle as having more than 80 playable characters and advertises 720 free gacha pulls. These are claims in the store listing, not independently measured figures, and offers can change. The Google Play listing names GOODROID, Inc. as the developer and identifies ads and in-app purchases.

Why there is no confirmed role chart or best team

The official Wizard Chronicle site text and store listings available here do not provide a complete team-building guide, role taxonomy, formation explanation, or current character ranking. That means a list of fixed roles—or a claim that one lineup is best for every mode—would go beyond what those sources establish.

#1 Best Overall

Players have discussed color- or type-based buffs and asked for team-building help, but forum posts are anecdotal. Treat any such mechanic as a prompt to inspect the current in-game skill descriptions, not as proof of a complete system or a guaranteed interaction.

How to evaluate characters for a particular stage

  1. Choose the content first. Decide which stage or mode you are trying to clear. A lineup may suit one encounter without being the best choice elsewhere.
  2. Read the skill descriptions in the current client. For each candidate, note what the skill does and whom or what it targets. Do not infer a character’s role from a name, artwork, or a ranking label alone.
  3. Check any stated conditions. If a skill names a color or type, verify that the intended recipients meet that condition in the game. Do not assume a buff applies to the whole team unless its text says so.
  4. Look for complementary effects. Compare the skills’ stated effects and targets with the needs of the encounter. A combination is worth trying when the descriptions indicate that the effects can benefit the same lineup or address different needs; verify the result in play.
  5. Test and adjust in the relevant content. Try the lineup in the stage you care about. If it does not meet that encounter’s needs, change one character at a time so you can judge what the replacement contributes.

Compare alternatives on the same criteria

When deciding between two characters for a slot, use the same questions for both rather than relying on a universal tier label:

  • Effect and target: What does the skill say it affects, and who receives the effect?
  • Compatibility: Does the stated effect fit the other characters’ skills and any conditions those skills specify?
  • Investment: Does a recommendation depend on awakening or another investment level? Include that requirement only when it is verified for the character and content.
  • Stage performance: Which option better helps with the particular stage you are attempting, based on your results?

This is a practical way to evaluate a team, not an officially published or verified optimal formula. The available material does not establish specific character pairings or investment thresholds, so check those details in the game before building around them.

How to use community recommendations

Player tier lists and forum advice can offer ideas, but treat them as opinions tied to their source, date, roster, and assumptions. Character balance and available characters can change. Before copying a recommendation, check that the cited skills still match the current client and that the lineup addresses the content you are playing.
