These are separate systems, so a black DJI Fly screen does not by itself mean the aircraft has lost controller control. For a pairing failure, use DJI Fly’s Mini 5 Pro relinking flow. For weak GPS, move to an open outdoor area and allow time for satellite acquisition. If the aircraft becomes unstable, prioritize a safe landing rather than assuming Return to Home will work.
Identify which signal is failing
Check the DJI Fly warning, whether the aircraft still responds to control inputs, and whether the problem changes in an open area away from interference. DJI’s verified app wording includes “Weak GPS signal,” “No GPS signal,” and “No image transmission signal.”

Fix a controller that will not pair
Check the controller model
DJI lists the RC-N2 and RC-N3 as compatible with the Mini 5 Pro. If you are unsure which controller you have, check its model label before troubleshooting further. DJI recommends keeping the controller within 50 cm of the aircraft while linking: DJI Mini 5 Pro support.
Re-pair in DJI Fly
- Power on the aircraft and controller and open DJI Fly.
- In Camera View, tap Control > Re-pair to Aircraft.
- Press and hold the aircraft’s power button for more than four seconds, until its linking indicators appear.
- Watch for the aircraft beep and sequential battery LEDs. The controller’s solid green status light indicates linking is complete.
DJI says controllers supplied in a combo are already linked. If linking fails, restart both devices and retry; make sure both have entered linking state. If the first method does not work, try the alternate linking method in DJI’s linking guidance. If a device cannot enter linking state, DJI recommends re-flashing firmware; if the fault continues, send the equipment to DJI for testing. Do not fly with an unresolved control-link fault.

Fix a black camera view or “No image transmission signal”
A missing live image can have several causes, and it is not proof by itself that the aircraft has lost control connectivity. Work through these checks while the aircraft is on the ground:
- Check firmware compatibility. Update the aircraft and controller using a current supported DJI Fly version. DJI identifies mismatched app and device firmware as a possible cause.
- Inspect transmission settings. In Camera View, open the upper-right menu and select Transmission to inspect channel status. DJI advises using Auto rather than manually choosing a channel.
- Reduce interference. If interference is strong, move away from dense buildings and try an area with fewer potential obstructions. DJI advises users to stop flying in the affected area and find somewhere without dense buildings.
- Check antenna orientation. Adjust the controller antennas as directed for your setup; if the feed does not return, re-link the controller and aircraft.
- Test storage and phone compatibility. Remove an installed microSD card, restart, and see whether the feed returns. If possible, test with a mobile device from DJI’s supported compatibility list.
If these checks do not restore the image feed, contact DJI Support.

Fix “Weak GPS signal” or “No GPS signal”
Give the aircraft time and an open view of the sky
GPS acquisition takes time after startup. DJI’s Japan support guidance published January 7, 2026, describes roughly 1–3 minutes for acquisition after power-on; treat this as general guidance, not a guaranteed Mini 5 Pro lock time. Buildings, mountains, and trees can obstruct reception, so wait outdoors in an open area where the aircraft has a clear view of the sky. See DJI Japan’s support guidance.
Move away from potential interference
DJI’s Japan guidance lists high-voltage infrastructure, radio towers, mobile base stations, Wi-Fi routers or hotspots, and Bluetooth devices as possible sources of interference. If the warning persists, try a different open location away from those sources.

Land if positioning or control becomes unreliable
Weak GPS, compass interference, or unavailable vision positioning can lead to ATTI behavior. In that state, position hold and automatic braking may be reduced or unavailable. If the aircraft drifts or becomes difficult to hold, land as soon as it is safe to do so. DJI’s accessible English GPS troubleshooting page does not provide detailed Mini 5 Pro-specific remedies or a verified satellite-count threshold.

Before flight, check the lost-controller action in DJI Fly under Settings > Safety > Advanced Safety Settings, confirm that the Home Point has recorded, and choose an appropriate RTH altitude. DJI says Mini 5 Pro Failsafe RTH activates after more than 11 seconds of controller signal loss only when Return to Home is selected, the Home Point has been recorded, GPS is good, and the compass is functioning normally. RTH is not a remedy for weak GPS or a compass fault. Follow the aircraft’s live app prompts, and if control remains available while the aircraft behaves unpredictably, choose a safe landing instead of relying on automation.
