Discord Quests are optional promotions that reward you for completing a specific activity, such as playing a game, streaming it to a friend, or watching a video. To earn a reward, accept an eligible Quest, follow its card-specific instructions before its deadline, then select Claim Reward. What appears, where you can complete it, and who is eligible depend on the individual campaign.
How a Discord Quest works
Discord describes Quests as a rewarded advertising format: participating can introduce you to games or content, while advertisers promote a campaign. Quests are opt-in and visually distinguished from the rest of Discord. Each has its own acceptance and completion window, requirements, and promotion terms. Check the Quest card and its terms before you begin; a campaign’s instructions are the authority for that promotion. Discord’s Quest FAQ was updated August 31, 2026.

The basic sequence is find → accept or start → complete → claim. Completing an activity does not necessarily mean the reward has already been added: you may still need to claim it, and some partner-game rewards require a separate redemption step.
How to find, accept, and claim one
On desktop or in a browser
- Open Discord and select the Quest bar, or go to Discover > Quests to open Quest Home.
- Open an eligible campaign and read its task, deadline, eligibility, and reward details.
- For a Play Quest, accept it as directed. For a Video Quest, use the control shown on its card to start viewing.
- Complete the stated activity within the campaign window.
- Select Claim Reward from the Quest bar or Quest Home when it becomes available.
On mobile
Discord lists Settings > Quests for discovery and Quest Home for claiming. Mobile acceptance, tracking, and viewing are in beta and limited to specific Quests; a campaign available on desktop may not be available on your phone. Follow the instructions shown for the particular Quest.

What you may have to do
Quest requirements are not interchangeable. The campaign card specifies which activity counts and how long you have to complete it.
| Quest type | What the task involves | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Timed play | Play a specified game for a stated duration while logged into Discord’s desktop app. | Use the Quest card to confirm the game and time requirement. |
| Game streaming | Stream the specified game to at least one friend in a Discord voice channel for the stated duration. | The required audience and voice-channel conditions are part of the task. |
| Linked in-game activity | Link your Discord account to the game, then complete a specified in-game action. | Completion data comes from the game developer, so recognition can take up to 36 hours after the action. |
| Video viewing | Watch a specified video or trailer in Discord’s desktop app or browser client. | Playback pauses if you switch windows; progress is saved so you can resume. |
| Cloud play | Some campaigns may offer a cloud-play task. | Discord describes this as an experiment, not a standard Quest requirement; rely on the campaign’s own instructions. |
What rewards you can get—and how redemption differs
Discord lists avatar decorations, in-game items, and Orbs among possible rewards. The card specifies the reward and any deadline or redemption terms. After claiming:

- Discord account rewards, such as Orbs or avatar decorations, are added to your Discord account.
- Partner-game rewards may be issued as a code with instructions for redeeming it on the game’s redemption site. Claiming in Discord may not complete that separate redemption.
- Orb rewards go into your Orb balance for use in the Discord Shop; they are not cash or a transferable balance.
How Discord Orbs work
Orbs are virtual rewards earned through Quests and redeemed for eligible Shop items. Discord’s Orbs FAQ, updated October 5, 2026, lists Nitro credits, items from main collections, and other eligible Shop rewards. Shop availability can change, so check the live Shop for what you can redeem.
- Orbs cannot be bought or gifted, transferred between accounts, exchanged for money, or transferred to another platform.
- Shop items claimed with Orbs are not refundable.
- Eligible Nitro subscribers may receive a 1.2× Orb multiplier on qualifying Orb-reward Quests that started on or after May 8, 2026. Discord says trial and gifted Nitro subscriptions qualify; Nitro Basic and Nitro obtained through Nitro Credits do not.
- The FAQ also describes a monthly Orb benefit for maintaining an eligible Nitro subscription. Check the current FAQ for its applicable terms.
Discord labels Orb Challenges an experiment on desktop and browser and says they are not widely available. Their appearance and rewards can vary by user and over time. The July 2025 Orbs announcement is historical context; use the current FAQ and Shop for present redemption options.

Why a Quest or reward might not appear
Not seeing the same Quest as a friend does not by itself identify the reason. Discord says availability depends on eligibility, region, account, and campaign; its support information does not tell another user why a specific Quest is absent from your account.
