To change where your Galaxy phone or tablet sits relative to a Galaxy Book, open Samsung Settings → Connected devices → Multi Control, drag its image to the matching side of the laptop in the layout, then select Apply. If you are connecting a Galaxy phone directly to a Galaxy Tab without a Galaxy Book, set the phone’s position in the tablet’s Multi Control settings instead.
Change the device order from a Galaxy Book
- Turn on Multi Control on both devices. On the Galaxy Book, go to Samsung Settings → Connected devices → Multi Control. On the phone or tablet, go to Settings → Connected devices → Multi Control. Samsung’s connected-experience instructions describe these paths; labels may vary by device.
- On the Galaxy Book, return to Samsung Settings → Connected devices → Multi Control.
- In the on-screen layout, drag the image of the connected phone or tablet to the left, right, top, or bottom of the Galaxy Book, according to where that device is physically positioned.
- Select Apply to save the arrangement.
- Move the Galaxy Book’s mouse or trackpad pointer past the screen edge toward the other device. Samsung describes the pointer appearing on the other screen as the cue that it can be used there.
Set the phone’s location from a Galaxy Tab
When Multi Control connects a Galaxy Tab directly to a phone without a Galaxy Book, set the phone’s position on the tablet. Open the Tab’s Multi Control settings, choose Connect phone → Phone location, then choose Right, Left, Top, or Bottom. Samsung documents this path in its Multi Control support instructions.
This is a different workflow from the Galaxy Book layout screen: the tablet setting uses Phone location, and Samsung does not document an Apply button for this path. Samsung says you need a pointing device for phone-to-tablet Multi Control without a Galaxy Book; examples include a keyboard cover or a mouse connected through USB-C.

Check connection requirements if Multi Control is missing
Samsung’s US connected-experience guidance says the devices in its described setup need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled and must be signed in to the same Samsung account. It also recommends updating apps on the PC through Microsoft Store.

Requirements can vary by region and device. For example, Samsung’s Brazil support guidance lists Galaxy Book models released from 2021, One UI 5.1 or later on Galaxy phones and tablets, Bluetooth, the same Samsung account, and the same Wi-Fi network; it recommends Wi-Fi 5 GHz. Treat those as regional guidance, not a universal compatibility list.
