There is no single fix for “NoxPlayer not working”: the right step depends on whether the emulator will not start, reports a virtualization problem, fails to install, or opens but has a graphics, app, or network issue. First note your operating system, NoxPlayer version, exact error text, and where the failure occurs; then follow the matching path below.
Identify what is failing before changing settings
NoxPlayer separates startup, installation, virtualization, graphics, internet, blue-screen, and performance problems into different troubleshooting categories. A startup fix may not help if NoxPlayer opens but a game cannot connect. Record the details that identify your case:
- Whether you use Windows or Mac, and the NoxPlayer version.
- The exact error message or code, or the percentage where startup stops.
- Whether the problem began after an operating-system, driver, firmware, security-software, or NoxPlayer update.
Use NoxPlayer’s Can’t Start NoxPlayer page for Windows startup failures. For an app, game, or connection problem after the emulator opens, select the matching category in NoxPlayer’s support FAQ instead.
If NoxPlayer hangs while starting on Windows
NoxPlayer’s startup guide lists several distinct branches, including startup stopping between 0 and 99 percent, virtualization status, standalone GPU selection, installation bundleware, firewall or antivirus settings, virtual-machine startup failure, and specific errors such as 1002 and 1017. Match your exact symptom or error to the instructions on that page rather than trying every setting at random.

- Startup stops at a percentage: choose the “Stuck at 0-99% when starting up NoxPlayer” branch.
- The error mentions VT or virtualization: follow the VT checks below.
- The error says “Virtual Machine failed to start” or shows a code: use the matching error-specific branch on the support page.
- The problem appeared during installation: check NoxPlayer’s installation and bundleware guidance.
- Graphics appear to be involved: check its standalone GPU instructions.
- Security software may be blocking startup: review the firewall or antivirus guidance for your setup; do not broadly disable protection as a general fix.
NoxPlayer’s guide directs users to contact its support team if the relevant steps do not resolve the startup problem.
If NoxPlayer says virtualization is missing
On Windows 10 or 11, you can reach the PC’s UEFI settings through Windows recovery. The exact virtualization setting name and location vary by computer manufacturer, so consult the manufacturer’s instructions for your device.

- Open Settings → System → Recovery.
- Next to Advanced startup, select Restart now.
- After the restart, choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → UEFI Settings → Restart.
- In UEFI/BIOS, look for the manufacturer’s virtualization setting, enable it if needed, and save the change according to the device’s instructions.
Microsoft notes that many computers already have virtualization enabled and advises: “Only change what you need to in the UEFI (or BIOS).” See its Windows virtualization guidance for details.
When VT is enabled in firmware but NoxPlayer does not detect it
NoxPlayer identifies security-software conflicts as one possible reason it may not detect VT. Its VT guidance also mentions restarting, temporarily toggling VT, and checking for a manufacturer-provided BIOS update when other steps fail. These are diagnostic possibilities, not guaranteed fixes; the article includes older Windows and antivirus examples, so verify instructions against your current device and software.

If considering a firmware update, follow the computer manufacturer’s official procedure for the exact model. Do not apply a generic BIOS update or change Windows hypervisor settings without checking the compatibility guidance for your NoxPlayer version. Microsoft’s Virtual Machine Platform instructions address Windows virtualization scenarios, including some Windows 10-to-11 upgrades; they are not a universal instruction to enable or disable that feature for NoxPlayer.
If the emulator opens but a game, app, or connection fails
Do not treat an app or network failure as a startup problem. Choose the relevant game-related, internet, graphics, or performance category in NoxPlayer’s FAQ. The specific procedure depends on the symptom and NoxPlayer version; the startup troubleshooting page is not a general fix for every app inside the emulator.

Contact NoxPlayer support using the contact details on its startup support page. Include the exact error or startup percentage, a screenshot, your device and operating system, NoxPlayer version, and the steps you have already tried so support can identify the relevant troubleshooting branch.
