You can use Samsung’s built-in Second Screen feature to extend or mirror a compatible Windows PC’s display to a Galaxy Tab. Samsung’s documented setup is wireless and requires a supported tablet plus a Windows PC with compatible Wireless Display hardware and drivers. Samsung does not document native support for a Mac host; Duet advertises an Android tablet connection for macOS as a third-party option.
Check whether your Galaxy Tab and computer are compatible
Samsung’s compatibility lists vary by region and support page, so check the current guidance for your exact tablet model rather than assuming every Galaxy Tab works. Samsung US support lists Tab S7, S8, S9, and S10 models with One UI 3.1 or later. Samsung’s Korea support page, dated December 6, 2024, lists additional S-series and Active models, including S11, and specifies One UI 5.1.1 or later. Samsung’s Connected Experience page gives a similar S7-onward list and recommends One UI 6.1.1 or later. These lists do not establish one universal minimum for every model and region.
The Windows PC also needs to support Wireless Display. Samsung’s US support page says Windows 10 version 2004 or later; its Connected Experience page gives Windows 10 version 20H2 or later. Samsung Korea recommends a Galaxy Book running Windows 11 version 24H2 or later and notes that the wireless adapter, graphics hardware, and drivers must support the feature. Confirm compatibility for your specific PC and Windows setup before troubleshooting the tablet.
Connect a Galaxy Tab to a Windows PC wirelessly
Samsung’s published wireless workflow uses the tablet’s Second Screen feature and Windows’ wireless display connection. Keep the tablet’s Second Screen screen open while you pair it.

- Open Second Screen on the tablet. Swipe down to open Quick Settings and tap Second screen. If you do not see it, check your model’s Samsung guidance and available Quick Settings tiles.
- Connect from Windows. Press Windows+K, then select your Galaxy Tab from the available displays. Samsung also documents a Second Screen or display-settings route for some PC setups; the exact route can differ.
- Choose how to use the tablet. Open Windows display settings and select Extend to create additional desktop space, or Duplicate to show the same image on both screens. Set the display arrangement, scaling, and resolution in Windows display settings.
- Disconnect when finished. In Windows, press Windows+K and select Disconnect.
Samsung recommends keeping the devices close and on the same Wi-Fi network for best results. A stable wireless connection and compatible PC wireless and graphics drivers are also prerequisites.
Can you use a Galaxy Tab as a second screen for a Mac?
Samsung’s Second Screen instructions cover a Windows PC; they do not document a native Mac-host workflow. Duet Display advertises using an Android device as a second display with macOS, making it a third-party option to investigate if your host is a Mac. Its current macOS requirements, compatibility with your specific Galaxy Tab, connection modes, and terms are not established here, so confirm them with Duet before installing or paying.

What about connecting with a USB cable?
Do not assume that any USB-C cable turns on Second Screen. Samsung Korea describes an experimental USB connection path that requires Windows 11 version 24H2 on the PC and One UI 7.0 or later on the tablet. It is a narrowly qualified option, not the standard wireless setup; check Samsung’s current guidance for your region and exact devices before relying on it.
