Is it a remaster or a remake?
The PS4 edition is a remake released in 2018, developed by Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio. PlayStation described it as “rebuilt from the ground up.” Calling it a remaster can confuse it with the earlier PS3 version, which is distinct from the PS4 remake. Sony’s PS4 release announcement identifies the remake and its retail and digital formats.
What is the game like?
You play a lone wanderer crossing the Forbidden Lands on horseback, searching for towering creatures called Colossi. The landscape is explorable, but deliberately sparse: the central draw is travelling through a quiet, desolate world and figuring out how to confront each colossal foe, rather than completing a map crowded with conventional activities. PlayStation’s retrospective on the PS4 version also describes its landscape and encounters.
Who gave it a 10/10?
Push Square awarded the PS4 remake an “Outstanding 10/10” in its review. That is the outlet’s review verdict, not a consensus score. It does not establish whether the PS4 edition is currently available through PlayStation Plus, or in which tiers or regions. Check the PlayStation Store catalog for your account’s region and subscription tier before assuming you can download it through the service.
