To build a strong Anime Zero character, choose one main weapon, then make its trait, skill upgrades, and accessories support the way you use it. Spend scarce upgrade materials where they address a real weakness in the content you play; there is no source-supported best-in-slot setup that works for every weapon, stage, or mode.
Start with one weapon and a clear combat role
Anime Zero is the Roblox dungeon-crawler RPG published by LY*. Its official Roblox experience listing describes exploration, fast-paced combat, and multiple game modes, and says the game is in active development. The listing also warns that bugs, performance problems, and incomplete features may occur, so treat detailed build mechanics as subject to change.
Rather than spreading early upgrade materials across each new weapon drop, pick one weapon to carry your build. Learn its reach, cooldown rhythm, and role in manageable encounters. A weapon you can use effectively is a better foundation than a theoretically attractive option whose attacks do not suit your play style.
- Weapon fit: Does its reach and attack rhythm work for you?
- Trait fit: Does the trait support the weapon and how you use it?
- Progression opportunity: Will an upgrade solve the obstacle you are facing, or consume resources better saved for a more pressing need?
These are practical evaluation questions, not a claim that one weapon or trait is objectively best. Available fan guides do not establish comparative weapon performance or a universal best-in-slot combination.

Build skills around the actions you use
Put skill upgrades toward attacks and actions that contribute to your regular dungeon clears. A point invested in an action you rarely use may do less for your current progress than improving the tools you rely on. If a harder fight exposes a specific weakness, reconsider your allocation in response to that problem rather than changing several parts of the build at once.
This approach follows recommendations from independent fan guides, not a developer-confirmed ranking of skills. The relevant question is whether an upgrade helps your weapon and the encounters you are tackling.

Choose traits carefully before using rerolls
Check whether a trait complements your weapon and combat habits before spending scarce rerolls. Anime Zero Wiki Editors’ traits guide, updated October 5, 2026, reports that the October 4 patch made rerolls specific to each weapon, added filtered auto-reroll that continues until it finds a selected trait, and lets players choose a Legendary or Mythic trait as a pity target. The guide also reports safety stops for Legendary or Mythic results. These are fan-wiki reports, not official confirmation; check the live interface or official announcements before relying on the mechanics.
The guide says October 4 also added Razor Focus, Overkill, Sniper, and Deadeye, but that the developer had not published their exact effects. It describes Bloodlust and Supernova ranking ahead of Hunter as player-reported consensus from before that update, not an official or verified tier list. Because the newer traits’ values are not established and rankings can change, do not spend rerolls on the assumption that an online ranking applies to your weapon or the current game version.

Match accessories to the build you already use
Compare an accessory’s bonus with your weapon, trait, and skill choices. A newly acquired item is not automatically an upgrade if its bonus does not support your plan. Reassess accessories after a major weapon or build change, since the best fit may change with it.
Anime Zero Wiki Editors’ October 5, 2026 guide reports that Sunglasses grant +3% damage and +11% critical-hit chance. Those figures are fan-wiki reporting and have not been independently confirmed by an official source; verify them in-game before treating them as current. The available sources do not establish a best accessory for each weapon or mode.

Use progression advice as a route, not a rule
A progression guide updated October 3, 2026 on the fan wiki recommends this sequence: roll weapons in the Arsenal, evolve a carry to unlock its ultimate, reroll weapon traits, roll enchants, craft accessories from act materials, then pursue titles. It suggests using available codes and rolls early to get a usable weapon, taking a Power enchant for damage, and clearing Story content; later goals include evolving the carry, crafting damage accessories, and moving to harder difficulty.
That is fan-guide advice rather than official optimal play. Use it as a way to think about progression systems, not as a guaranteed route or a reason to pursue every upgrade before addressing your current bottleneck.

Adjust the build to the mode and the obstacle
A setup meant for regular Story progression may not be the right one for harder difficulty or another mode. The sources do not establish a single build that performs best across all content. When a clear becomes difficult, identify the specific problem—such as an attack that is not contributing reliably or a weakness exposed by the encounter—then change one important part of the setup and assess it in that relevant dungeon or mode.
- Pick a main weapon and learn its useful attacks and rhythm in manageable encounters.
- Before rerolling, check whether the trait supports that weapon and your play style.
- Spend skill upgrades on actions used in regular clears; revisit them if harder content reveals a concrete weakness.
- Compare accessory bonuses with the weapon, trait, and skills you are actually using.
- After a major upgrade, change one important part at a time and judge the result in the content you intend to play.
Be cautious with reported critical-hit values
The October 5 traits guide reports a reworked critical-hit system with 200% base critical damage, caps of 60% critical-hit chance, 275% critical damage, and 40% cooldown reduction, plus skill-tree critical-hit nodes worth 3%, 6%, 10%, and 15% per node. It also reports title bonuses of +2% critical-hit chance for Boss Slayer and +8% critical damage for Boss Reaper. These are volatile fan-wiki figures, not independently confirmed official values; check the live game before using them to plan a build.
