For the pre-release demo, start with the default graphics settings at 1280×800 resolution and 100% resolution scale. Steam Deck HQ reported 60 FPS in many smaller fights, with drops below 60 FPS but above 30 FPS in the largest encounters. Those are observations from a demo build, not a guarantee for the full game or every Steam Deck.
Recommended starting settings
Leave the demo’s graphics options at their defaults, with resolution set to 1280×800 and resolution scale at 100%. These are the settings used in Steam Deck HQ’s hands-on demo test, which reported that the game could reach 60 FPS in many smaller fights. In the largest fights, the reviewer saw performance fall below 60 FPS while staying above 30 FPS. Steam Deck HQ’s demo preview is a single publication’s test, not a formal benchmark series or a prediction for every Deck.
What to try if heavy fights feel uneven
Large enemy encounters are the known stress case in the cited demo test. If swings in frame rate bother you, try a 40 FPS cap at 40 Hz through SteamOS and compare it with the default behavior on your device. This is an experiment, not a Boltgun 2 setting established as optimal by the available test. Compare frame pacing in a heavy fight, visual clarity at 1280×800, and battery use; the best choice depends on whether you prefer steadier motion or higher frame rates in lighter scenes.
No comparative frame-cap or battery-life results are established for the demo. Steam Deck LCD and OLED runtime, in particular, has not been compared in the available findings.

Demo findings versus the full release
The game’s Steam listing schedules the PC release for October 14, 2026, and offers a demo. The full game had not yet been released at the time of the findings summarized here, so these settings are provisional for the demo rather than a verified full-game preset. Recheck performance after launch, especially in a representative large fight, before treating this as a final recommendation. Steam’s listing identifies the game as a single-player first-person shooter with Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath as playable characters and a branching campaign.
What the PC requirements do—and do not—tell you
Steam lists Windows minimum requirements of an Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 980, Radeon R9 Fury, or Arc A580, and 13 GB of storage. Its recommended Windows requirements are an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB RAM, a GeForce RTX 2070 Super or Radeon RX 5700 XT, and 13 GB of storage. These are PC system requirements, not a Steam Deck compatibility rating or a performance guarantee.

Settings that are not performance tweaks
The developer says the sequel brings back Invulnerability, Infinite Ammo, and Unlock all weapons, and adds Undying Mode. These are gameplay options, not graphics or Steam Deck performance settings. The official Steam announcements describe those features.
