Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesNeither “lightweight” nor “ultralight” automatically makes a gaming mouse better. There is no shared weight cutoff established for these labels in the cited product pages and buying guides, so compare the mouse’s actual weight, shape, grip fit, controls and battery needs instead. A lighter mouse may suit fast FPS movement; a more substantial shape or extra buttons may be a better match for other games or for your hand.
What do “lightweight” and “ultralight” mean?
In the sources cited here, manufacturers and reviewers use both terms, but do not define a common industry-wide boundary between them. Treat the labels as marketing descriptions, not weight classes with an agreed cutoff. Compare the stated grams for the exact model and version you are considering.
Current examples span a notable range: PC Gamer lists the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro at 36 g; Razer lists the DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed at 55 g; ASUS lists the TUF Gaming M3 Gen II at 59 g; and Logitech describes the PRO X Superlight 2 as about 63 g. These are source-reported model specifications, not a universal ranking; check the listing for your region and exact version.
Does a lighter mouse improve aim?
Not automatically. A lower mass can make quick repositioning feel easier for some players, but the cited sources do not establish that a particular weight improves accuracy or aim for everyone. Logitech’s 2020 launch announcement quoted professional Counter-Strike player s1mple saying the original PRO X SUPERLIGHT let him play at his peak. That is one player’s endorsement, not a controlled performance finding or a claim about the later PRO X Superlight 2.

How should shape, grip and hand size affect your choice?
Start with the mouse in your hand rather than its label. Logitech advises considering grip and hand size alongside weight and sensor specifications, and checking comfort during longer sessions. Razer likewise treats weight and shape as separate filters. A mouse that feels awkward or strains your hand is unlikely to become a good fit just because it is lighter.
- Hand size: Check whether the body supports your fingers and palm without forcing an uncomfortable reach.
- Grip: Consider whether you hold the mouse with your palm, fingertips or a claw-like grip; the same shape can feel different across grip styles.
- Shape: Symmetrical and ergonomic designs feel different in use. Prioritize the profile that feels controlled and comfortable to you.
- Long sessions: If possible, assess comfort beyond a brief test. A shape that feels fine for a few minutes may not suit extended play.
Which weight and features suit your games?
For FPS games
Logitech’s buying guide points to lightweight mice as an option for FPS play, where quick repositioning can matter. Its guide describes the PRO X Superlight 2 at about 63 g and positions it for FPS. This is a use-case suggestion, not a guarantee of better aim: grip, fit and personal control still matter.

For MMO and MOBA games
Button access may matter more than minimizing grams. Logitech notes that MMO or MOBA players may prefer a palm-grip mouse with many programmable buttons. Check the actual button layout and whether the controls are useful to your games before prioritizing the lowest weight.
For wireless, polling and battery needs
Compare connection type, sensor and polling specifications, and expected battery life at the settings you plan to use. Higher polling can change battery expectations on a specific model: PC Gamer reports 70 hours at 1 kHz and 16 hours at 8 kHz for the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro, and notes it has one onboard profile. Those figures describe that model, not all ultralight mice.

How to choose between them
- Decide what matters most in your games. For FPS, consider whether lower mass helps your movement feel controlled; for MMO or MOBA play, weigh button access and grip comfort.
- Match the shape to your hand and grip. Compare the mouse’s profile with your hand size and preferred hold, then consider comfort during longer sessions.
- Compare actual weights, not labels. Use the listed grams for the exact model and version. “Ultralight” alone does not tell you how it compares with a mouse marketed as “lightweight.”
- Check the features you will use. Review connection, buttons, sensor and polling specifications, plus battery life at the polling rate you expect to use.
- Pick the mouse that feels controllable and comfortable. If you can, try the shape before committing; the lightest option is not automatically the best fit.
