Which platforms are confirmed?
The official Fate/EXTRA Record site lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, with a scheduled release date of January 28, 2027. Steam also lists January 28, 2027 as the planned date and currently marks the game as not yet available. The platform list is announced; check the relevant regional store for local availability and any changes before purchasing.
Publisher names vary by region and storefront. The official site identifies XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe Limited in its publishing credits. XSEED Games is named for the Americas and Marvelous Europe for Europe in the Americas announcement. Aniplex was selected as publisher in TYPE-MOON’s August 31, 2026 notice, and Steam names Aniplex on its listing. These distinctions do not establish identical editions, prices, or retailer availability worldwide.

What to check before choosing an edition
If you want a physical copy
- Match the platform and edition on the exact regional product listing; the announced physical options and prices differ by platform.
- For Switch 2, the Americas publisher says the physical game will be fully on cartridge. Check that the regional SKU and retailer description make the same promise before buying.
- The Limited Edition is the option with the physical art book and three-disc soundtrack. The announcement said physical preorders would be available soon through the Marvelous USA Online Store and participating retailers; it does not confirm that a particular store currently has an open listing or stock.
If you want digital extras
Digital Deluxe includes the three named outfit packs, arranged music pack, and digital art book and soundtrack. Steam notes that some included content may also be available separately, and describes its digital soundtrack and art book as a separate application. Compare any separately listed content with the bundle so you do not buy the same extras twice. Steam also cautions that product contents and specifications may change.

What kind of game is Fate/EXTRA Record?
It is a remake and reworking of Fate/EXTRA, the story-focused RPG that originally released on PSP in 2010. Set in the Moon Holy Grail War, it follows Masters and Servants in a digital world connected to the Moon Cell. Players choose Saber, Archer, or Caster. The publisher describes Record as expanding the original’s narrative, updating its visuals, and introducing a strategic battle system that combines turn-based combat with deck-building.
PlayStation Blog describes customizable Command Card battles and gathering information about rival Servants. That makes the announced combat and presentation a substantial reworking rather than a promise that the PSP game’s systems or content are unchanged.
