Why start with Drake’s Fortune?
Drake’s Fortune begins Nathan Drake’s main story arc, so playing it before the next two games gives you the most straightforward path through the original trilogy. The Nathan Drake Collection includes all three campaigns, making it the simplest collection to choose if you want to follow that order.
That order is a recommendation, not a requirement. PlayStation’s FAQ says each game has its own story and is intended to stand on its own, while also recognizing continuity across the series. You can start with a later entry if that is the game you own or the character you want to follow.

PlayStation lists the Legacy of Thieves Collection release date as January 28, 2022. Check your regional store or retailer for current purchase options; availability can vary.

Is it okay to start with Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy?
Start with Uncharted 4 if you want Nathan Drake’s later adventure
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes place later in Nathan’s story. Its setup introduces him as retired before Sam reappears. You can follow the adventure as a standalone story, but the earlier trilogy provides the clearest context for Nathan’s arc.
Start with The Lost Legacy if Chloe is the draw
The Lost Legacy shifts the lead to Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. PlayStation describes it as a standalone adventure, so it is a reasonable entry point if you are especially interested in Chloe’s story rather than beginning with Nathan.

What Legacy of Thieves does—and does not—include
The name can be easy to misread: Legacy of Thieves Collection contains Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, not Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, or Drake’s Deception. If your goal is to play the first three games, look for The Nathan Drake Collection.
The PS5 and PC Legacy of Thieves release is single-player and does not include multiplayer from the original titles, according to the collection’s product FAQ.

- UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune
- UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves

The first three form Nathan Drake’s original trilogy; Uncharted 4 continues his story later, and The Lost Legacy follows Chloe and Nadine. You do not have to complete every game before trying another: PlayStation describes the entries as standalone adventures with continuity across the series.
