To allow ads on one website in Safari on a Mac, open Safari > Settings > Websites > Content Blockers and set that site to Off. On iPhone or iPad, check whether a Safari extension is blocking the page, then disable that extension for the site through Safari’s Page menu.
Allow ads on one website in Safari on Mac
- Open the website in Safari.
- Choose Safari > Settings, then select Websites.
- Select Content Blockers in the sidebar.
- Find the website and set its menu to Off.
- Reload the page if its content does not update right away.
Apple defines Off as “Don’t block ads and other unwanted content on the site.” This is a site-specific exception; it does not turn off content blocking for other websites. You can also open the site’s Page menu > Website Settings to change its content-blocker option. Apple’s Safari for Mac guide explains the setting.
Allow ads on a website on iPhone or iPad
On iPhone and iPad, an extension may be responsible for blocking ads. Check the extension’s general setting or switch it off for the individual website.
Disable an extension for all websites
- Open Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions.
- Select the extension you suspect is blocking the page.
- Turn off Allow Extension.
Disable an extension for one website
- Open the website in Safari.
- Tap the Page menu, then choose Manage Extensions.
- Switch off the relevant extension.

Allow pop-ups separately from ordinary ads
Content blockers and pop-up controls handle different things. If a site needs to open a new window or tab, change the pop-up setting rather than the content-blocker setting.
- iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > Apps > Safari and adjust Block Pop-ups.
- Mac: Choose Safari > Settings > Websites > Pop-up Windows, then select the setting for that website.

If the website still does not work
Try changing only the control that matches the problem. If ads or page content remain blocked, check whether a Safari extension is active; Apple also lists turning off content blockers and checking extensions among possible troubleshooting steps for Safari on Mac. Apple’s Safari troubleshooting guide has additional steps.
Be cautious with pop-ups and ads. Apple warns that suspicious pop-ups can be phishing attempts that imitate trusted warnings or offers. Avoid clicking alarming messages, pages that take over the screen, or unexpected prompts to install software. If you need a Safari extension on Mac, Apple says extensions may access webpage content; use extensions you recognize and grant only the access you intend.
