For sharper image quality on PS5 Pro, start with games Sony names as supporting its upgraded PSSR: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2, Control, Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin. Each is a credible pick for exploring clearer fine detail or steadier images, but Sony says results vary by game; its announcements do not establish a measured performance ranking or a guaranteed resolution and frame rate for each title.

What PS5 Pro enhancements can—and cannot—promise

Sony says compatible games can combine ray tracing, AI-upscaled 4K output using PSSR, and frame rates of 60fps or up to 120fps on a 4K TV. That is a description of what compatible games can support, not a specification every enhanced game achieves at once. Sony explicitly says results vary by title. Its current US PS5 Pro page lists more than 100 enhanced PS5 titles, a Sony-reported count rather than an independently audited total. Sony’s PS5 Pro product page

The benefit highlighted in Sony’s March 16, 2026 announcement is upgraded PSSR—PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution—which Sony says improves image stability and makes fine details clearer. Those are Sony’s claims; the announcement does not provide independent, title-by-title image-quality measurements, frame-rate tests, or rendered-resolution figures. Sony’s upgraded PSSR announcement

Best PS5 Pro games to try for sharper images

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Sony names Final Fantasy VII Rebirth among the games receiving upgraded PSSR support and says the upgrade improves fine detail and image stability. Its large-scale RPG presentation makes it a strong choice if you want to explore those image-quality benefits across expansive environments and detailed scenes. Sony does not publish a measured resolution or frame-rate result for the game in the cited announcement.

Silent Hill 2

Silent Hill 2 is another upgraded-PSSR title on Sony’s list. It is a natural pick for players drawn to visual atmosphere, where clearer detail and steadier image presentation are relevant to how environments read. The source describes the broader PSSR benefits, not a measured, game-specific gain.

Alan Wake 2 and Control

Remedy Entertainment’s Graphics Technical Director, Tatu Aalto, says, “The upgraded PSSR improves image upscaling quality and stability.” He adds: “Control and, especially, Alan Wake 2 benefit from these improvements on the Pro, resulting in better, more stable image quality.” This is the clearest developer-specific endorsement in Sony’s announcement for image stability in these two games; it is not an independent benchmark or a quantified comparison.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Sony lists Monster Hunter Wilds as adopting upgraded PSSR. Its action and detailed environments make it worth considering if you want to see how the image reconstruction handles busy scenes. The cited material does not establish a particular frame rate, resolution, or measured performance improvement for this title.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard also supports upgraded PSSR. BioWare Studio Technical Director Maciej Kurowski describes image-quality improvements while maintaining stable frame rates in Fidelity and Performance modes. That is BioWare’s characterization, not independent testing, and Sony’s announcement does not attach a specific measured rate or resolution to either mode.

Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin

Sony includes both Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin among the upgraded-PSSR games. For Nioh 3 specifically, Producer Kohei Shibata says the upgrade sharpens edges on natural objects and retains detail during fast action. That developer comment applies to Nioh 3; the cited source does not provide the same title-specific detail claim for Rise of the Ronin.

Other PS5 Pro enhanced games to consider

The official US PlayStation Store enhanced-games category also features titles including The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It is a dynamic, regional category, so its listing may change and should not be treated as a permanent worldwide catalogue. Check the US PlayStation Store PS5 Pro Enhanced Games category for current entries.

How to choose the right game for your PS5 Pro

  • Choose the experience, not an assumed FPS ranking. The available Sony materials do not support a title-by-title frame-rate or resolution leaderboard. Pick a genre and game you want to play, then treat the enhancement as a benefit rather than a guaranteed numerical upgrade.
  • Look for the benefit that matters to you. If you notice shimmering or fine-detail clarity, prioritize upgraded-PSSR picks. If you care more about frame-rate options, note developer descriptions such as BioWare’s comment about stable rates in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, while remembering that it is not a published measurement.
  • Check whether you already own the game. An enhanced game in your library is an easy place to explore the console’s capabilities before buying something new.
  • Confirm the current listing in your region. PlayStation’s Store category is both regional and dynamic; availability and inclusion can differ.
