To earn Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2, progress through the Premium Battle Pass or buy Prisms in game. Blizzard’s Mythic Shop FAQ says a completed Premium Battle Pass provides 80 Prisms; the free pass and Challenges do not award them. Spend Prisms in the Mythic Shop on eligible Mythic cosmetics, checking the live shop for each item’s availability, cost, and customization tiers.
How do I earn Mythic Prisms?
Blizzard identifies the Premium Battle Pass as the main progression route. Its Mythic Shop FAQ says completing the Premium pass earns 80 Mythic Prisms. The amount and tier schedule for a live season should be confirmed in that season’s in-game pass rather than assumed from an older guide.

Blizzard’s 2024 FAQ described earning 8 Prisms every 10 tiers, beginning at Tier 8 and continuing through Tier 78. That is the schedule documented in that article, not a confirmed tier-by-tier schedule for the October 2026 pass. A later announcement for Season 2: Summit, published April 13, 2026, advertised up to 80 Prisms in that season’s Premium Battle Pass, but does not establish the current season’s detailed schedule. Buy Prisms in game
Blizzard also says players can directly purchase additional Mythic Prisms in game, through Battle.net or their platform store. Prices and purchase options can vary by region and platform; check the offer shown in your own game or storefront before deciding. Blizzard’s FAQ does not establish one current universal price.

Can I get Mythic Prisms from the free Battle Pass?
No. Blizzard’s Mythic Shop FAQ says Mythic Prisms are not earned from the Free Battle Pass or Challenges. It also says Overwatch Coins and Credits cannot be exchanged for Prisms. The documented acquisition routes are Premium Battle Pass progression and direct purchase.
How do I unlock Mythic skins?
- Open the Mythic Shop in game. Review the available Mythic Hero skins and Mythic Weapon skins, then check the Prism cost and the item’s current availability.
- Get enough Mythic Prisms. Earn them through the Premium Battle Pass or purchase additional Prisms through the available in-game or platform-store offer.
- Select the Mythic cosmetic and unlock it. Follow the item’s displayed tier and customization options. The exact costs and unlock steps are item-specific, so use the current in-game listing rather than an older price guide.
Shop inventory changes. Blizzard’s FAQ says featured Mythics may leave after their season and describes past Mythics returning after two seasons, but that does not guarantee a particular item is available now. Check the live Mythic Shop for the cosmetic you want.

How many Mythic Prisms does a Mythic skin cost?
There is no safe single current price to apply to every Mythic cosmetic. Blizzard’s April 2024 patch notes documented an older Hero-skin structure: 50 Prisms for the base skin and 10 for each of its three additional levels, or 80 Prisms for all four stages. Treat those figures as historical pricing, not a confirmed price for every current Mythic.
Blizzard changed how it presents Mythic Hero-skin progression starting in Season 19. Its October 9, 2025 announcement said, “At Tier 1, you’ll unlock the complete Mythic skin design.” Later tiers provide customization options, such as alternate components, colorways, and ambient effects. What can Mythic Prisms unlock?
Prisms are used in the Mythic Shop for Mythic cosmetics, including Hero skins and Weapon skins. As a dated example, Blizzard’s Season 2: Summit announcement named Mythic Volted Overdrive Soldier: 76 and Genji’s Sumi-ichimonji Weapon skin as options for that season. Those examples do not indicate what is featured in the shop now.
Before buying Prisms or committing pass progress toward a particular cosmetic, compare the current item’s displayed Prism cost with the amount you expect to earn from the live Premium Battle Pass. If the cosmetic is not currently listed, its future return date is not established by the FAQ.
