A Ninja DualBrew can take longer simply because you chose a larger brew or Rich style. If the cycle is unusually slow, check for a CLOG warning and follow the needle and descaling steps below. For liquid leaking outside the brewer, the available official guidance does not identify one universal cause, so first locate where it is escaping and contact Ninja if it continues.
Why a DualBrew cycle may be slow
Ninja says brew time varies by size and brew style: a full-carafe or Rich brew takes longer than a single-serve or Classic brew. The progress bar shows the cycle’s progress. A longer cycle by itself does not establish that the machine is faulty.
If the cycle seems abnormally slow or stops with a warning, check the display. The CLOG message can indicate coffee grounds in the top or bottom needles, or calcium scale in the brew system.
What to do when the display says CLOG
- Check that the pod was pierced. Confirm the top and bottom are punctured. If a pod was not pierced, try another, press it down firmly so the bottom needle pierces it, and close the lid. If a new pod still does not puncture, contact Ninja Customer Service.
- Look for visible grounds in the needles. If you can see grounds, turn the brewer off and clear them carefully with a flat wire or plastic clip, such as a paper clip.
- Restart and flush. Turn the brewer back on and run a water-only, full-carafe Classic brew.
- Descale if needed. If no grounds are visible or CLOG remains after the flush, run the CLEAN cycle described below.
How to run the CLEAN descaling cycle
Ninja’s guide says scale can affect performance or coffee flavor, and that hard water makes scale build up faster. Do not run the clean cycle with water alone; the guide says that will not descale the brewer properly.

- Fill the reservoir with 16 oz of white vinegar, then add water to the Full line. Alternatively, use a descaling solution formulated specifically for coffee makers and follow its package directions.
- Press CLEAN, then press CLEAN again to confirm. The guide estimates the cycle will take about 75 minutes. Do not remove the carafe while it runs.
- When the cycle is complete, empty the carafe. Wash the reservoir with warm, soapy water, then refill it with fresh water.
- Run a water-only, full-carafe Classic brew to flush the system.
What to do when Add Wtr appears despite water in the reservoir
Add Wtr means the brewer does not have enough water to complete the brew. Add fresh water and press the brew-style button that was running to resume. If the reservoir already has water, remove it and press it firmly back into place. If the warning remains, contact Ninja Customer Service.
What to check if the DualBrew is dripping or leaking
The official guidance available here does not establish one confirmed cause or repair for external leaks across DualBrew models. Treat these checks as observations, not guaranteed fixes:

- Note where the liquid appears and when it happens; this can help distinguish a spill from liquid escaping during brewing.
- Check that the reservoir is seated firmly and has not been filled above its Full line.
- If liquid appears to come from inside the appliance, or the leak continues, stop troubleshooting and contact Ninja support with the exact model number.
Do not assume a replacement reservoir or other component will fit every DualBrew. Ninja’s CFP101 listing identifies parts including a removable water reservoir, brew basket, glass carafe, pod adapter, and de-clog tool, but that listing does not establish compatibility with CFP300, CFP307, or other versions. Confirm your model and the part’s compatibility before ordering.
