If you want the claustrophobic unease and slow-building dread of P.T., start with Visage: its developer explicitly names P.T. as a major influence. For a different take, MADiSON puts a possessed camera at the center of its puzzles, Layers of Fear turns a house into a shifting threat, and SOMA trades the haunted home for underwater science-fiction horror.

Which game should you play after P.T.?

Game Best fit if you want… Setting and play Platform information established by the cited source
Visage The clearest documented connection to P.T. A house with a terrible history, slow tension, exploration, environmental clues, and threats to evade Xbox listing names Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; cloud play is subject to a qualifying Game Pass plan
MADiSON First-person exploration with camera-based puzzles A possessed instant camera connects the human world with the beyond; solve puzzles and survive PlayStation lists a PS4 version playable on PS5, with a caveat that some PS4 features may be absent
Layers of Fear A threatening home that seems to change around you Investigation, puzzles, evasive action, and a Victorian house that twists through fear and decay The cited critical discussion does not establish current platforms or editions
SOMA Existential dread and environmental investigation An underwater facility, terminals and documents, and danger to outsmart or flee rather than fight PlayStation lists a PS4 release; it is playable on PS5, though some PS4 features may be absent

These are different ways to pursue the qualities people often mean when they ask for games with P.T.’s “vibes and atmosphere”: an uncanny space, first-person exploration, puzzle-solving, gradual dread, or an unsettling story. That phrase appears in a public discussion, where it is an individual player’s description—not evidence of how common the request is.

Visage: the closest documented P.T. influence

SadSquare Studio, the developer of Visage, says: “Though we were heavily inspired by the brilliant and matchless P.T., we also drew upon influences from classic psychological horror games like Phantasmagoria and from more recent ones like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, as well as from horror movies like The Grudge.” That makes Visage the most direct recommendation here if the influence itself matters to you.

Its first-person survival-horror setting is a house with a terrible history. Xbox’s listing emphasizes slow tension, exploration, environmental clues, a changing house, and a sanity mechanic. The player is defenseless and must avoid or evade threats, so expect vulnerability rather than an action-focused way to deal with danger.

MADiSON: camera-led exploration and puzzles

Choose MADiSON if you want first-person psychological horror but prefer a distinctive puzzle tool to a simple loop of exploring a haunted house. The player uses a possessed instant camera to connect the human world with the beyond, solve puzzles, explore, and survive. Its official site describes it as a “FIRST PERSON PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR GAME” and says “OUT NOW.”

PlayStation lists the PS4 release as July 8, 2022, and says that version is playable on PS5; some PS4 features may be absent. Layers of Fear: a house that shifts around you

Layers of Fear is the pick for a domestic setting that feels unstable rather than merely haunted. A specialist discussion in the Irish Journal of Gothic and Horror Studies describes its Victorian house as twisting through fear and decay, with spinning and seemingly endless rooms. The article places the game in a first-person horror tradition of investigation, puzzle-solving, evasive action, and threatening domestic spaces.

SOMA: underwater science-fiction dread

Pick SOMA if the part of P.T. you want is psychological unease and an unsettling narrative, but you are happy to leave the haunted-house loop behind. It takes place in PATHOS-II, an underwater facility where resources are failing and machines seem to think they are people. Investigation means exploring terminals and documents; when danger arrives, you must outsmart it or run rather than fight back.
