In Gods & Demons, Tanks help protect the team, damage-focused heroes pressure enemies, and Support heroes improve allies’ survival or effectiveness. Those are jobs, not a fixed team formula: the game’s four official classes are Tank, Attacker, Mage, and Support, and a hero’s skills can combine more than one role.
What the four hero classes do
Com2uS’s 2025 launch announcement describes a turn-based team-building game in which stats, skills, synergies, race composition, and formations all matter. It names four classes—Tank, Attacker, Mage, and Support. “Damage dealer” is a useful umbrella for damage-oriented Attackers and Mages, not a fifth official class. The announcement says the game has more than 60 heroes across five races: Human, Orc, Spirit, God, and Demon. It also says players begin by selecting six heroes for an initial deck. Com2uS’s launch announcement is in French; these class names are its English rendering.

The table describes common jobs, not a guarantee that every hero in a class has the same abilities. Read the skill descriptions: a class badge is a starting point, not a complete account of how a hero plays.
What does a Tank do?
A Tank’s practical job is to make incoming pressure less dangerous for the rest of the team. A kit might do that by surviving hits, drawing attacks with a taunt, or mitigating damage. A durable hero does not automatically protect allies, so look for the specific protection or targeting effects in the skill text.

Pocket Gamer describes King Grox as a Tank with taunt and durability. That is an example from the outlet’s hero assessment, not an official balance guarantee or a controlled comparison. Its tier-list page also reports that it was updated October 5, 2026 for version 3.0.10, while warning that the game had been removed from the App Store and Play Store and that the outlet would no longer update its tier list. Treat those rankings and availability claims as time-sensitive and attributed to Pocket Gamer.
What counts as a damage dealer?
Damage dealer is a functional label for heroes whose main contribution is taking down opponents. In the game’s official vocabulary, those heroes may be Attackers or Mages. The useful distinction is not simply physical versus magic damage; check whether the hero focuses on one target or hits an area, and whether the attack also applies a debuff or another effect.

A secondary beginner guide describes Assault as single-target or area damage and Magic as rear-row area damage with debuffs. Because the guide is available here only through its search excerpt, treat those descriptions as that guide’s summary rather than definitive universal mechanics. What does Support do?
Support heroes improve the team’s staying power or effectiveness. Depending on the kit, that may mean healing, buffs, damage mitigation, removing debuffs, or resisting crowd control. Support is not synonymous with healer: a hero can strengthen allies or reduce danger without relying on direct healing.

Pocket Gamer’s descriptions illustrate the range: it presents Ostara as a healer with mitigation and ATK/Crit buffs, and Liana as a Support hero with heals, buffs, crowd-control resistance, and debuff dispel. These are the outlet’s assessments of particular heroes, not a promise that every Support has those tools or that those heroes are always strongest.
Why a hero can fill more than one role
Class labels do not prevent role overlap. In a February 2025 update announcement, Com2uS described Elena as a Demon Mage who deals area magic damage while also granting allies damage mitigation and ATK/HP buffs. She is a clear example of a damage-oriented class contributing support effects in the same kit. The Elena update announcement documents that historical example.

When comparing heroes, consider their primary contribution, single-target or area damage, utility such as taunt or cleansing, fit with the rest of the team, and the mode or opponents you face. A hero’s class name alone cannot answer all of those questions.

- Identify what is going wrong. If allies are falling quickly, look for protection, mitigation, or healing. If opponents survive too long, consider more damage or a useful debuff. If the team lacks a needed effect, inspect support and control-related skills.
- Read each skill description. Confirm who a skill affects, whether damage is single-target or area-based, and whether it includes taunt, buffs, debuffs, cleansing, or other utility. Do not assume those effects from the class badge.
- Check synergies and formation. Com2uS says race-based team composition can activate buffs and identifies formations as part of team strategy. The launch announcement names five races—Human, Orc, Spirit, God, and Demon—but does not establish one ideal combination for every team.
- Adapt to the mode and opposing team. A lineup that handles one threat may not address another. Reassess the skills and protection you need rather than treating a class ratio as a fixed rule.
For positioning, GamingonPhone’s beginner-guide excerpt says Tanks protect from the front row and cautions against exposing damage dealers when opponents attack the back row. Use that as secondary-guide advice, not a universal rule: the available official announcement does not document those positioning mechanics in detail.
How current are hero rankings and availability?
Hero rankings can become outdated as balance and game availability change. Pocket Gamer labels its tier list version 3.0.10 and October 5, 2026, and says it was ending updates after the game’s removal from the major mobile stores. That statement is Pocket Gamer’s report; it does not establish availability in every region or on every platform. The Apple listing available for this title contains historical version information through May 2025, so it cannot confirm present availability. Check the relevant store in your region before relying on an installation or availability claim.
