Nintendo Music downloads work offline only in the mobile app, after you download music while connected. If saved tracks stop playing offline, Nintendo says they may have expired after an extended time without internet access. Connect to the internet, open the app, and leave it running for about 30 minutes; the required screen state differs on Android and iOS.
First, check where you’re listening
Nintendo Music’s mobile app supports offline listening when you download music in advance. The web version does not support offline playback, so downloads made—or playlists organized—in a browser will not play without a connection. Nintendo describes the app and web options on its Canada product page; availability may differ by country, so check your local Nintendo page.

Nintendo Music requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. The app is free to download, and Nintendo says a seven-day trial is available to users new to the service. See Nintendo’s Nintendo Music FAQ for current service details.
If downloaded tracks won’t play offline
Nintendo says downloads expire after a user has been offline for an extended period, but its support article does not specify how long that period is. The app may show support code 9009-2201 on Android or 9010-2101 on iOS. Nintendo’s recovery instructions are to reconnect to the internet, launch Nintendo Music, and leave the app running for around 30 minutes.

| iOS | Keep the app in the foreground. Do not let the device sleep or send Nintendo Music to the background; either interrupts the process. |

If the problem began after an Android app update
Nintendo’s support article specifically warns that downloads may fail offline after updating the Android app to version 1.7, even if you connect regularly. Nintendo recommends the same approximately 30-minute online session described above. The article does not establish that this affects every Android version or current users generally.

Only one or a few tracks fail
Connect to the internet and play each affected track online. Then disconnect and try playing that same track offline. Nintendo lists this as a workaround for individual tracks that still will not play offline.
If My Music says “Could not load data”
This is a library-refresh issue, not the same as an offline download failing to play. Connect to the internet, open My Music, and tap Retry. Nintendo says the refresh may take 10 minutes or more. If it continues to fail, use the contact option in Nintendo’s My Music support article.

If Nintendo Music cannot reconnect
Check Nintendo’s network status page for maintenance or disruptions affecting Nintendo Account or Nintendo Switch online services. A service disruption can prevent online troubleshooting or refreshes from completing; Nintendo’s support material does not identify one as the cause of offline-track expiration.
