If you’re moving from Android to a new OPPO, try the copy option shown during setup or OPPO Clone Phone; if your old phone is an iPhone, use OPPO’s iPhone-to-OPPO Clone Phone flow. A transfer that stalls or leaves gaps is not always a total failure: first check what arrived, then use the recovery route that fits your source phone and setup status. Keep both phones charged and unlocked, check storage on the OPPO, and back up anything already on it before using Clone Phone.
Which transfer method should you use?
Choose based on the old phone and whether the OPPO is still in its initial setup. Screens and options vary by model and software version, so use the route actually offered on your devices.

Before transferring, charge both phones, make sure you can unlock the old one, connect to the internet, and check that the OPPO has enough free storage. Why is Android-to-OPPO transfer stuck?
If Google setup copying has stopped progressing
If the setup copy has been stuck for more than 15 minutes, Google’s guidance is to tap “Stop copying” and check which data transferred. If the cable came loose or a phone ran out of battery, recharge and try again; Google says restarting the transfer is usually possible. Google’s transfer troubleshooting guide

Do not reset the OPPO just because the progress indicator paused. First inspect its apps, photos, contacts, and messages, and make sure you have a backup of anything already stored there. If you cannot resume the copy, a post-setup option may be available, but repeating the initial setup can require a factory reset depending on the device. If the transfer takes longer than expected

Why won’t Clone Phone connect?
- Keep both phones close together. Turn on Wi-Fi on the old phone and the personal hotspot on the new OPPO.
- Open Clone Phone on the source phone, scan the QR code shown by the OPPO, and accept the prompt to join its Wi-Fi network.
- Allow Clone Phone to find and connect to devices on the local network. If you denied a permission, reopen the app’s permissions in Settings and allow it, then retry.
- If pairing still fails, close and reopen the app on both phones, check that the source phone is unlocked, and try scanning the code again.

What if the QR code will not scan?
If you are using Google’s Android setup pairing, Google describes an alternative: use the setup notification on the old Android phone and choose “Try another way” to pair with a code. If the notification is missing, Google advises skipping that pairing path and considering a cloud-backup restore instead. What if Clone Phone will not install or update?
OPPO recommends checking the internet connection, restarting the phone, reviewing Play Store download preferences, and ensuring Google Play Store and related services have network permission. Can you transfer data after skipping setup?
Check Settings or notifications for “Finish setting up.” Google says some devices offer this option after initial setup, but later copy options depend on the Android version and manufacturer. You may also be able to restore a Google Account backup when adding the account to an already configured phone; what returns depends on what was backed up. Restoring a backup from a newer Android version to a phone running an older version is not supported and may leave the transfer incomplete. Google says a full backup restore can take up to 24 hours. Why didn’t all apps, files, or WhatsApp chats move?
A device copy does not necessarily include every file or an app’s private data. Google lists the following as items that may not transfer in its Android setup flow:
- Downloads such as PDFs and media in hidden folders.
- Apps installed from outside Google Play.
- Data from apps that do not use Android backup.
- Non-Google accounts and their data.
- Some settings.
Google’s setup copy can include apps and certain app data, music, photos, videos, contacts stored on the phone or SIM, text messages, some settings, MMS media, wallpaper, and call history. Inclusion depends on the data type and app; do not assume an app’s internal content will be copied just because the app itself appears on the OPPO. Google’s Android setup guide

OPPO Clone Phone limitations
OPPO says Clone Phone cannot migrate hardware-linked transit or access cards, facial and fingerprint data, lock-screen passwords, incompatible apps or app data, or system-clone data. OPPO also warns that Clone Phone can overwrite existing apps and app data on the new phone, so back up anything already on the OPPO before starting. OPPO Clone Phone instructions
WhatsApp chats
Google says WhatsApp chats are restored from the cloud after you sign in and open WhatsApp, provided a WhatsApp backup was enabled on the old phone. Check WhatsApp’s own backup status on the source device; a general phone transfer alone does not establish that chat history was backed up. Google’s Android setup guide
When should you use a cable or cloud backup instead?
Use the Google setup route if it is available and you want its documented device-copy process; choose cable or wireless based on the connections the phones support. Google states both methods cover the same categories in that flow. A compatible data cable or adapter is only necessary if you choose the wired route, and you should verify the connectors on both phones before using one. Google’s Android setup guide
A cloud restore is useful when direct pairing is unavailable or setup has already been completed, but it restores only backed-up content and is subject to Android-version compatibility. Check that a current backup exists on the old device before relying on it. Google’s backup and restore guide
