To see information already attached to your Amazon account, sign in and open Your Account. For a broader copy, use the privacy-request route for the Amazon marketplace where you use your account: Amazon’s US notice points to Data Privacy Queries, while Amazon Europe’s notice points to Request My Data. The available rights and labels vary by region, and Amazon may ask you to verify your identity.
Choose the right way to access your information
Amazon offers two distinct routes: account settings for information it makes visible there, and a privacy or data request for broader access where applicable law provides that right. The privacy request is not simply another name for browsing account settings.

Amazon’s US Privacy Notice, last updated June 30, 2026, describes access and deletion rights “to the extent required by applicable law” and refers readers to state-specific disclosures. Amazon Europe describes access, correction, deletion, and portability rights subject to applicable law; some rights also have stated conditions. Check the notice for the marketplace and location relevant to your account rather than assuming one route or set of rights applies everywhere: Amazon.com Privacy Notice and Amazon Europe Privacy Notice.
Review information in Your Account
- Sign in to the Amazon site where you use your account.
- Open Your Account.
- Review the information and settings available there, such as your name, address, payment options, profile information, Prime membership, household settings, and purchase history.
These are examples Amazon identifies as accessible in Your Account, not a complete inventory of everything Amazon may hold about you. See the Amazon.com Privacy Notice for its description of account access.

Request a broader copy of your data
- Open the privacy or help route in the notice for your marketplace. For Amazon.com, look for Data Privacy Queries; for Amazon Europe, look for Request My Data.
- Choose the available access or data-request option and follow the on-screen instructions. The precise labels may change, so follow the current page if it differs from these names.
- Complete any identity checks Amazon requests. Amazon says it may verify identity before disclosing personal information.
Amazon’s documented Transfer Your Data portal flow describes submitting a request through the account portal, confirming it through a security email, and receiving a notification when machine-readable files and metadata are ready to download. This is a documented download and sharing flow, not proof that every marketplace currently uses identical screens or that it replaces every legal access process. The compliance report says customers may request again at any time; it does not establish a universal processing time or download deadline. What the download may contain
Amazon’s US Privacy Notice describes information it may collect from several sources: details customers provide, information generated automatically through use and interactions, cookies and identifiers, and information received from other sources. Examples include account and contact details, payment information, age and location, IP address, reviews and communications, Alexa voice recordings, uploaded images or video, identity documents, financial information, and device log files or configurations.

Those examples describe possible collection, not a guarantee that every item will appear in every export. The files are an account-specific snapshot of the categories Amazon makes available for that request. Compare the included categories with the Amazon services and devices you use, and distinguish ordinary account records—such as orders and profile information—from broader activity, device, or service information. The documented portal lets customers select available categories, but its report does not establish the current category list for every account or region. The Amazon.com Privacy Notice describes the kinds of information Amazon may collect.
Review the files and keep a copy safely
When Amazon notifies you that the files are ready, download them and inspect the included data and metadata. Machine-readable files are intended for processing by software, so you may need an appropriate application to view a particular format. Keep the downloaded archive private: it can contain sensitive account or activity information. The documented materials do not establish one retention or availability window for downloads across all regions, so rely on the instructions shown in your account notification.

A data request does not delete your records
Accessing or downloading a copy is separate from asking Amazon to correct, delete, restrict, or stop processing information. Check the rights and separate procedures in the privacy notice that applies to your location. Amazon Europe says it may retain information as needed to provide services, as required by law—including tax and accounting obligations—or as otherwise communicated. It gives transaction history as an example of information retained so customers can review past purchases and repeat orders. A copy request alone does not erase those records.
