Manage store recommendations and browsing history
Store recommendations have their own controls, separate from the ad preference.
Review recommendation inputs
Open Improve Your Recommendations to manage items Amazon uses to inform recommendations. Amazon also provides an item-level option labeled “Use this item for recommendations”; turning it off removes that item as a recommendation input.

Open Your Browsing History to review or edit the history associated with your account. These steps address recommendation signals and browsing records; they do not replace the personalized advertising preference.
Change personalized ad preferences for Alexa

In the Alexa app, go to More > Alexa Privacy > Manage Your Alexa Data.

Open the preferences and look for Receive interest-based ads delivered by Amazon on Alexa. Change the preference if you do not want Amazon to use interests to personalize ads delivered on Alexa.
On an Echo Show, open Alexa Privacy or Privacy and Permissions > Manage Your Alexa Data, then find the ad preference. Menu names can vary by device and software version.

Change non-sponsored Echo Show home-screen content
Home-screen suggestions are controlled separately from the interest-based ad preference. On supported Echo Show devices, go to Settings > Display & Appearance > Home Content Categories and switch off categories you do not want. Amazon lists Echo Show generations for this feature and notes that menus may vary on some devices. See Customize the Home Screen on Your Echo Devices with a Screen for device-specific details.

Sponsored Echo Show ads: Amazon says these cannot be turned off with the interest-based ad preference. Its help page says, “You can’t turn off these ads, but you can skip an ad by swiping from right to the left on the screen.”

Every recommendation: Amazon notes that opting out of interest-based ads on Alexa may leave personalized recommendations and similar features active: “If you choose not to receive interest-based ads from Amazon, you may still receive personalized recommendations and other similar features.”

Ads in other Amazon services: The Alexa preference does not apply to ads in services such as Amazon Music or Fire TV.
