If your Powerbeats Pro 2 won’t connect, start by checking charge, Bluetooth range, and the selected audio output. Then forget the old Bluetooth record and pair again. Reset the earbuds only if those steps fail: with both earbuds in the open case, hold the case’s system button for 15 seconds until the light flashes red and white.
Check the connection before changing settings
Confirm the earbuds and the phone, computer, or other device are charged and switched on. Keep them close together: Apple Support recommends placing Beats and the paired device within 30 feet. Move them away from potential sources of wireless interference, including other Bluetooth devices, microwaves, routers, and nearby electronics.
- Confirm the audio output. On iPhone or iPad, check Settings > Bluetooth. On Mac, select the Beats under System Settings > Sound. On a PC, select the Beats as the playback or recording device as appropriate.
- Check volume on both devices. Make sure neither the host device nor the earbuds’ audio is muted or turned down.
- Test downloaded audio. Play a track stored on the device to check whether the issue is with the Bluetooth connection or the streaming service or network.

Forget the old Bluetooth record and pair again
If the basics are right but Powerbeats Pro 2 still won’t connect, remove its saved Bluetooth entry from the host device, then pair the earbuds again.

- iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > Bluetooth, tap the information control beside the Beats, and choose Forget This Device.
- Mac: Open System Settings > Bluetooth, select the Beats, and remove or forget the device.
After removing the saved record, put the earbuds in pairing mode and select them in Bluetooth settings. Apple recommends trying this before resetting the earbuds.
Put Powerbeats Pro 2 into pairing mode
- Place both earbuds in the charging case and leave the lid open.
- Press and hold the system button on the case until the lights flash.
- Open Bluetooth settings on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android device, or other Bluetooth-enabled device and select Powerbeats Pro 2.
On Android, an on-screen setup animation may appear. If it does not, pair through the device’s Bluetooth settings or the Beats app. See Apple’s Powerbeats Pro 2 setup guide.

Reset Powerbeats Pro 2 if pairing still fails
Use the model-specific reset only after checking the connection and trying to pair again. Keep both earbuds inside the case and the lid open throughout the procedure.
- Press and hold the case’s system button for 15 seconds.
- When the light flashes red and white, release the button.
- Pair the earbuds with your device again.
This procedure is for Powerbeats Pro 2; do not substitute reset steps for the earlier Powerbeats Pro model. Apple’s Reset Beats guide advises contacting Apple Support if the reset procedure itself does not work.

Check for a firmware update after reconnecting
Apple says Beats firmware updates arrive automatically on Apple devices. On Android, firmware updates are managed through the Beats app. The steps differ by platform:
Apple devices
- Keep the device’s operating system current, connect it to Wi-Fi, and enable Bluetooth.
- Connect and charge the Beats.
- Place both earbuds in the case, close the lid, and leave them within Bluetooth range of the device for at least 30 minutes.
- Reconnect the earbuds and check their firmware version.
Android
- Connect the earbuds to the Android device.
- Open the Beats app and use its Update control if one is available.
If an update still fails, Apple advises resetting the Beats and trying again. See Apple’s Beats firmware update instructions.

When to contact support
If you cannot complete the model-specific reset or it does not restore the connection, contact Apple Support. A failed Bluetooth attempt by itself does not establish that the earbuds have a hardware fault; the troubleshooting guidance does not identify it as proof of a defect.
