Those are historical results, not a forecast of investment returns, and they cannot by themselves show whether the shares are worth their current price. To assess valuation, compare a dated share price with a clearly defined earnings measure and consider future growth, cash generation, and the risks that could change expectations.
What does NVDA mean, and where can you find NVIDIA’s financial information?
NVDA is NVIDIA Corporation’s Nasdaq ticker symbol. The company’s Investor Resources FAQs answers the question, “I am interested in becoming an investor, how do I get financial information on NVIDIA?” Company releases and SEC filings are useful primary sources for reviewing reported results, outlook, and risk disclosures.
The latest results located here are for fiscal Q2 2027, the quarter ended July 26, 2026. NVIDIA reported $96.2 billion in revenue, up 18% sequentially and 106% year over year. The company’s August 26, 2026 results release also included an outlook for fiscal Q3 2027 and cautioned that forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties. Reported growth describes past performance; it does not establish what future revenue, earnings, or share returns will be.
Is Nvidia stock overvalued?
There is no reliable dated share quote and defined earnings basis here from which to state a current NVDA valuation multiple or verdict. A price-to-earnings ratio is meaningful only when the share price has a timestamp and the earnings denominator is identified as trailing or forward. Without both, a quoted multiple can mislead.

Valuation is the market price relative to what an investor expects the business to earn and generate in cash in the future. Strong historical growth alone does not show that a stock is cheap: investors also need to judge how much growth and profitability the current price already assumes, and whether NVIDIA can deliver them.

- How durable expected growth appears, rather than extrapolating one period’s growth indefinitely.
- Whether earnings convert into cash and whether margins can hold as the business scales.
- The company’s competitive position and its ability to meet changing market needs.
- Customer concentration, supply capacity, and exposure to export restrictions or other regulation.
- The price paid against an explicitly stated trailing or forward earnings measure.
This framework helps identify the assumptions behind a valuation; it does not make a buy-or-sell decision for an individual investor.
Why is NVDA volatile?
Share prices can react when reported results or expectations differ from what investors had anticipated. NVIDIA’s filings warn that results below analyst or investor expectations could cause its share price to decline. The company also describes rapid change in accelerated computing markets and the risk that it may not meet evolving industry and market needs. Those disclosures identify factors that can affect results and expectations; they do not provide a measured volatility statistic for NVDA shares.

In its August 26, 2026 results release, CEO Jensen Huang said, “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue,” (management’s statement in the release). This is management’s characterization of the market, not independent evidence that future demand or investment returns will match expectations.
What risks should investors understand?
NVIDIA’s fiscal 2026 Form 10-K and fiscal Q2 2027 Form 10-Q describe business and market risks relevant to evaluating the company. The filing disclosures identify possible adverse outcomes; they do not predict that any particular outcome will occur.

- Competition and changing technology: Accelerated computing markets change rapidly. NVIDIA says that failing to meet evolving industry and market needs, or facing competition, could harm financial results. The 10-K states, “Failure to meet the evolving needs of our industry and markets may adversely impact our financial results.” (Fiscal 2026 Form 10-K)
- Supply, manufacturing, and demand matching: Long lead times, uncertain capacity, reliance on third-party suppliers, and errors in forecasting demand can create mismatches. These may affect delivery, costs, inventory, and results.
- Customer concentration: Two direct customers accounted for 22% and 14% of NVIDIA’s total revenue in fiscal 2026, according to the company’s Form 10-K. These are fiscal-year figures and do not establish the same shares of revenue in the latest quarter or today.
- Export controls and regulation: Export restrictions and other political or regulatory actions could adversely affect the business.
- Expectations and share-price reactions: If results fall short of analyst or investor expectations, the share price could decline. This is a disclosed risk, not a quantified estimate of how often or how far NVDA may move.
NVIDIA’s fiscal 2026 10-K also refers to market-price volatility for publicly held equity securities in the context of the company’s own equity investments. That disclosure concerns NVIDIA’s investment holdings; it should not be mistaken for a measured volatility statistic for NVDA shares.
