Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo install DroidDeck, first check that your Android handheld meets the project’s stated requirements: Android 9 or newer and a supported Qualcomm Adreno GPU. Download the APK from the official DroidDeck GitHub Releases page, install DroidDeck’s Linux runtime, then press Play and sign in to Steam. DroidDeck’s Steam Deck controller mode is software-emulated; you select it in Steam’s controller settings rather than pairing a separate Steam Deck.
Check whether your Android device is compatible
DroidDeck’s official README describes support for Android 9 or newer on a Qualcomm Adreno GPU. The project lists Adreno 730 or newer and the Adreno 8-series as supported. It lists Adreno 710, Mali, Xclipse, and PowerVR GPUs as unsupported. These are the project’s stated requirements, not independently tested compatibility results.
- Check your Android version in your device’s Settings.
- Confirm the GPU model in the device specifications or with a reliable system-information app. A device’s chipset name alone may not make its GPU tier obvious.
- If the device has a listed unsupported GPU, the project does not claim it will run DroidDeck.
The README says root access is not required. It estimates about 3 GB for the Linux runtime and another 1.1 GB for Desktop & apps, which adds desktop and emulator components. Treat these as approximate project estimates and allow additional free space for Android, Steam, and game downloads.
Download and install DroidDeck
DroidDeck says it has no standalone website and warns against download links from sites claiming to represent its team. Use the project’s GitHub Releases page for the APK.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
- Open the official Releases page and download the APK for the release you want.
- Open the downloaded APK and follow Android’s installation prompts. If Android asks permission to install apps from that source, grant it for the installer you are using, then return to the APK and complete installation.
- Open DroidDeck and install the Linux runtime when prompted. The project estimates this runtime at about 3 GB.
- When installation finishes, press Play in DroidDeck and sign in to Steam. Steam downloads files on its first launch, so the first start may take longer than later launches.
- If you also want desktop and emulator use, install Desktop & apps as an additional component. The README estimates it at 1.1 GB.
Allow Steam to launch on Android
Before launching Steam, DroidDeck’s README says to turn off Android’s Restrict child processes setting in Developer options. The exact location of Developer options and the setting can vary by Android build.
- Open Android’s Developer options and look for Restrict child processes.
- If the setting is present, turn it off before starting Steam through DroidDeck.
- On Android 12 or 13, if the setting is absent from Developer options, the README says DroidDeck presents a Fix it for me button on Steam’s first launch to help automate setup. Follow that in-app prompt if it appears.
The project documents that helper specifically for Android 12 and 13 when the setting is missing. It does not establish the same workaround for other Android versions or device builds.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Select Steam Deck controller mode
DroidDeck describes a Steam Deck controller mode for Steam sessions. Steam sees the emulated pad as a Steam Deck controller; the project also describes a Quick Access button and input from the Android device’s gyroscope. Games receive Steam Input virtual pads, so Steam Input layouts can be used. On a dual-screen handheld, the second screen can provide the Deck-style back grips and trackpads.
This is DroidDeck’s emulated control mode. The documented setup does not require pairing a separate Steam Deck or Bluetooth controller.

- Launch Steam through DroidDeck and open Steam’s settings.
- Look under Touch & controls, then Controller. The repository’s progress log documents this path as Steam page → Touch & controls → Controller; labels may differ in another version.
- Select Steam Deck controller. The progress log identifies it as the default option.
Choose between the documented controller modes
The repository progress log also mentions Xbox 360 controller as an alternative. The choice can affect which controller type a game recognizes; Steam Deck mode is the option associated in DroidDeck’s release notes with the Deck-specific Quick Access and gyro features. Steam Input layouts are available through the virtual pads described by the project. The sources do not establish game-by-game compatibility or identical behavior across titles.

If installation or controls do not work
- DroidDeck will not install or launch: recheck Android version and GPU against the project’s listed requirements.
- Steam does not start: check whether Restrict child processes is enabled. On Android 12 or 13, use Fix it for me if DroidDeck offers it because the setting is missing.
- You cannot find controller selection: look in Steam’s Touch & controls settings and verify the labels in your installed version; the documented path comes from a progress log and may change.
- A game does not behave as expected: try the other listed controller mode or review that game’s Steam Input layout. The project material does not promise compatibility for every game.
