As of October 7, 2026, Samsung lists the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra in its monthly group—but delivery timing can vary by market, carrier, and model.
Check for an update on your Galaxy S23
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update. Depending on your carrier or software version, this may instead appear as System updates.
- Tap Download and install.
- Tap Check for updates. Some versions use the labels Check for system updates or Check for software updates. If an update is offered, follow the on-screen prompts; your phone may begin downloading or show a separate download button. Samsung recommends a stable Wi-Fi connection, enough available storage, and sufficient battery before installing an update. See Samsung’s update instructions.
Review update history and installed software
If available, return to Software update and tap Last update to see information about the most recent update and a summary that may include the UI version. For software details on the handset, open Settings > About phone > Software information. Samsung documents these paths in its Galaxy software update guidance. Menu wording and availability can differ across carriers and software versions.
Check Samsung’s current security-update scope
Open Samsung’s Security Updates Scope page and look for your exact model name under the monthly or quarterly lists. As of October 7, 2026, the monthly list includes the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung says the scope lists are reviewed and may change, so check the live page rather than relying on a saved list.
Samsung states that the S23 series is eligible for five years of security updates and four major OS/One UI upgrades. That is a support commitment, not an exact final-patch date for every individual handset. Samsung’s S23 support page describes the commitment; its launch announcement also qualifies availability and timing by device model and market.

What a “no update available” result means
It means the phone did not find an update to install when you checked. It does not, by itself, show that Samsung has ended support for your model. Samsung says availability and timing can vary by market, network provider, and model. In addition, some carriers may provide quarterly updates for models Samsung places in its monthly group.
For a more useful check, note the exact model and carrier, review the installed software details on your phone, and compare them with Samsung’s current scope page and applicable security bulletins. Samsung’s bulletin page reports security-maintenance information; it cannot identify the patch installed on your particular handset.
