If Roblox will not open or load on your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, start by force-stopping the app and reopening it, then restart the device and check for app and software updates. Clear Roblox’s cache next. Save clearing its data or reinstalling for later because those steps can reset app state or require you to sign in again.
Try the quick, reversible fixes first
- Force-stop Roblox: Open Settings > Apps > Roblox, tap Force stop, then open Roblox again. Menu labels can vary by Galaxy model and software version. Roblox recommends closing and reopening the app as an initial troubleshooting step; see Roblox’s Android app troubleshooting guidance.
- Restart your Galaxy device: Turn it off, wait about 30 seconds, and turn it back on. Then try Roblox again.
- Check for updates: Update Roblox through the store where you installed it. Also check for a Samsung software update and, if available, a Google Play system update. Samsung notes that update options depend on the device; its guidance is available in Samsung’s app troubleshooting steps and app installation and update guidance.
Clear Roblox’s cache
A corrupted or stale cache can interfere with loading. On many Galaxy devices, go to Settings > Apps > Roblox > Storage > Clear cache. Reopen Roblox afterward. This removes cached files rather than resetting the app’s stored data. Samsung cautions that steps can vary by software version and app; see Samsung’s instructions for clearing app cache and data.
Clear data or reinstall only if the problem remains
Clear Roblox’s data
In Roblox’s app storage screen, choose Clear data or Clear storage if that option appears. This resets the app and removes personal settings or data stored locally. Make sure you know your Roblox login details and can access your account before proceeding; you may need to sign in again. Samsung explains the difference between cache and data in its Galaxy cache and data guide.
Reinstall Roblox
If clearing data does not help, uninstall Roblox and reinstall it from the official app store. Use the same account credentials when you sign in. Roblox and Samsung both include reinstalling among their general remedies for persistent app problems. Avoid installing Roblox from unofficial download sites.

Check compatibility and the internet connection
Confirm the device meets Roblox’s published requirements
Roblox lists Android OS 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support as its mobile requirements. Check the device’s Android version under Settings > About phone or About tablet; exact menu names vary. Requirements are described on Roblox’s mobile system requirements page. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee every newer device or OS version will be supported immediately.
Test the connection if Roblox reports a timeout
If you see Error Code 266 or a message that the connection timed out, first check whether other apps and websites can reach the internet. If possible, try Roblox on another reliable network, such as switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Roblox describes Error Code 266 as a connection timeout and identifies connectivity issues, including low bandwidth or internet speed, as possible causes; see Roblox’s Error Code 266 guidance. If Roblox works on another network, focus on the original connection rather than treating the issue as proof of device incompatibility.
