Identify when and how AION 2 fails
Before changing Windows settings or reinstalling drivers, note whether the game fails before its launcher opens, while loading, or after you enter play. Record the exact error text and code, if any, and whether you launch through Steam or PURPLE. A crash with an error code is a different case from a game that closes silently with no message.
- Login or connection interruption: Check AION 2’s official announcements for a maintenance notice before troubleshooting your PC. A notice published for October 6, 2026 PDT / October 7 CEST said login would be temporarily unavailable during maintenance; that dated notice is not a statement of current server status, and the publisher says schedules can change.
- Steam error 1138:100134: Follow the specific official procedure below.
- Silent close or poor performance: Compare your PC with the official requirements and confirm the installation route. The official material cited here does not establish a general repair for these symptoms.
Fix Steam error 1138:100134
If the message reads “Failed to reset Steam account linking. Please check Steam’s status and restart the game. (1138:100134),” AION 2 Global Support recommends running Steam as administrator and trying again. Its guidance applies to this error code; it is not a documented fix for unrelated crashes.
- Exit AION 2 and Steam.
- Open Steam with administrator privileges: right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator. Approve the Windows prompt if it appears.
- Launch AION 2 from Steam again.
- If the same error remains, submit a request to AION 2 Customer Service.
Check whether your PC meets AION 2’s requirements
Compare your PC’s processor, memory, graphics card, Windows version, and free storage with the publisher’s listed tiers before buying hardware or changing software. These are published requirements, not independent performance benchmarks, and meeting the recommended tier does not guarantee a crash-free experience. The English Steam listing and the official Korean download page provide the following specifications:

The listed graphics presets differ by page. At FHD (1920×1080), the Korean download page pairs the minimum tier with “Very Low” and recommended with “Normal”; the English Steam listing says “Very Low” and “Low,” respectively. Follow the page for your region rather than treating those recommended presets as interchangeable.
Understand the storage figures
The publisher lists 100 GB of available storage as the requirement. Its download page separately says the initial installation may require about 70 GB or more. The smaller initial-install figure is not a replacement for the published 100 GB free-space target. The Korean download page also links to DirectX 12 or later, Visual Studio Redistributable 2015–2022, and NVIDIA and AMD driver pages; those links identify listed prerequisites and vendor resources, not proven fixes for an individual crash.

Confirm the installation route and supported platform
AION 2’s official PC instructions describe installation through PURPLE, while its Steam FAQ also identifies Steam as a supported Windows PC platform. If you use PURPLE, the official sequence is:
- Install and open PURPLE.
- Choose AION 2 from the Store menu.
- In the AION 2 lobby, select Game Install.
The official Steam FAQ says official Windows PC support is through Steam and PURPLE. It also says controller play may be possible but is not officially supported, and Linux and Steam Deck are not official support platforms. An installation or platform mismatch is worth ruling out before interpreting a launch failure as a performance problem.

What to do about silent crashes and performance problems
If AION 2 closes with no error message or runs poorly, first check the requirements table and maintenance announcements, then verify whether you are launching through Steam or PURPLE. The official support material cited here does not establish a universal fix for silent closes, stuttering, low frame rates, or other general performance symptoms. Avoid assuming that administrator mode, a runtime reinstall, or a driver change will resolve a problem unless official support identifies that step for your specific case.
If the problem continues, contact official support with the exact error text or a note that no error appeared, your launcher, Windows version, and the point at which the failure occurs (before launch, during loading, or after entering play). This information helps describe the issue without assuming its cause.
