For a low-risk starting setup in Aion 2 on PC, make frequently used actions comfortable to reach, set target search to follow the front of your camera, and lower Effect Quality and Mass Combat Quality first if you need to prioritize frame rate. Treat PvP targeting, pursuit, nameplate visibility, and camera effects as personal or situation-dependent choices—not universal best settings. No reviewed source provides controlled frame-rate gains for individual options.
Start with a few reversible changes
Aion 2 uses manual combat controls, so awkward keybinds or a cluttered view can get in the way of learning encounters. Begin with one or two changes, try them in a low-pressure activity, and keep what feels useful. Menu names and options can vary by platform, region, language, and game update; the suggestions below are PC-oriented and based on third-party settings guidance, not hands-on testing.
Make frequent actions easy to reach
In Key Settings, review the actions you use most and move only the inconvenient ones at first. Mobalytics highlights flying, flying upward, interaction, and crowd-control break as candidates to place on comfortable keys. A side mouse button can work well for an action you need quickly, but an accessible keyboard key is enough for many players.
After changing a binding, practice it before changing the rest of your layout. If a combat macro suits your play, Mobalytics says it can be assigned to right-click; it is an option, not a requirement. An unofficial Global guide also recommends assigning a macro key and separating the Defiance hotkey, but says its values draw on creator videos and should be treated as starting points rather than guaranteed settings for every client.

Set targeting around how you fight
Search direction
Try Search Direction = Front of Camera if you want target search to follow the direction you are looking. This can make selecting an enemy ahead feel more direct. If you prefer another targeting behavior, keep your current setting; this is a control preference, not a universal advantage.
PvP target priority
In PvP, consider placing hostile players ahead of spirit-related targets in target priority. That can better match player-versus-player situations, but the right ordering depends on what you are trying to select and the encounter.

Target pursuit
Target pursuit can help melee builds close distance when activating a skill. Ranged builds that want to preserve spacing may prefer to leave it off. Try the option in a setting where a mistaken approach or loss of distance is low-cost before relying on it in a serious fight.
Control automatic buffs and visual clutter
Buff auto-use
Set automatic buff use to In Combat if you want to avoid consuming buffs while moving around or preparing to fight. Be aware that, in some control setups, left-click attacks can still trigger buff scrolls.

Choose what stays visible
If a crowded screen makes combat harder to read, try hiding player or spirit nameplates, pets, or floating combat numbers. These are optional visibility changes: keep the information that helps you, and hide only what distracts you. Enabling boss orientation indicators may help you read directional cues during boss encounters.
Prioritize graphics changes for performance
If you want to prioritize FPS, begin by lowering Effect Quality and Mass Combat Quality. Mobalytics also suggests turning off tier icons above player names and enabling Identical Player Appearance for crowded Abyss battles. Keep other graphics settings at levels your PC handles comfortably.

These are practical adjustments, not benchmark results. Performance depends on hardware and scene density, and no reviewed source establishes a specific FPS improvement for any individual setting. For official hardware context, NCSOFT’s system requirements FAQ lists minimum and recommended specifications and FHD preset guidance. It advises Very Low at FHD for compatibility on minimum-spec PCs and Low at FHD for compatibility on recommended-spec PCs; those presets are not a guarantee of stable frame rates in every scene.

Turn Camera Shake off if you prefer a steadier view. If the bright teleport transition is uncomfortable, try setting its effect color to Dark. Both are comfort preferences; neither is established as a competitive advantage.

Which changes should you try first?
- Fix one awkward keybind. Choose a frequent action, such as interaction, flying, or crowd-control break, and practice the new key.
- Try Front of Camera search. Check whether target selection feels more predictable as you look around.
- Set buff auto-use to In Combat. Watch how it behaves with your control setup, especially if you use left-click attacks.
- Adjust graphics only if needed. Lower Effect Quality and Mass Combat Quality first, then judge performance in the kind of scene that causes difficulty.
- Personalize the view. Turn off camera shake or hide distracting visual elements only if they improve comfort or readability for you.
Make one change at a time where practical. That makes it easier to tell whether a setting helped and to restore the previous behavior if it did not.
