Neither Steam Deck model is officially supported for skate. Electronic Arts’ Early Access PC requirements state: “While skate. will be Steam Native, Steam Deck will not be supported.” That applies to both OLED and LCD; Valve’s hardware specifications do not establish that the game will run properly on either device.
Is skate. supported on Steam Deck OLED or LCD?
No. EA’s Early Access PC Specs & Requirements, published September 12, 2025, explicitly says Steam Deck will not be supported and that macOS and Linux are not supported. The statement covers Steam Deck as a platform, not just one screen version.
“Steam Native” does not mean Steam Deck compatible: EA uses that phrase while separately excluding Steam Deck. The Steam listing specifies Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 12 for PC, and it requires persistent internet plus linked EA and Steam accounts. Those requirements do not override EA’s Deck exclusion.
How do the OLED and LCD compare?
Valve’s specifications show differences in display, battery, wireless hardware, and some component revisions. They are hardware specifications, not skate. benchmarks.

Specifications are from Valve’s LCD and OLED tech-spec pages. The OLED has the larger, faster-refreshing screen and a higher-capacity battery. Both list the same CPU/GPU architecture and core/unit counts, but none of these figures establishes how skate. performs under SteamOS.
Does the OLED run skate. better than the LCD?
There is no official OLED-versus-LCD test for skate. in the cited sources, and EA does not support Steam Deck for the game. No frame rate, graphics setting, launch success, stability result, or performance advantage for either model is established. The OLED’s hardware revisions are not enough to conclude that skate. is playable or runs better on it.

How long does skate. last on Steam Deck battery?
Valve lists broad gameplay estimates of 2–8 hours for the 40 Wh LCD and 3–12 hours for the 50 Wh OLED. These are manufacturer ranges, not controlled comparisons or skate.-specific tests. No cited source establishes skate. battery life on either model, so the general figures should not be treated as a prediction for this game.
Do Steam Deck controls work with skate.?
Valve lists broadly similar built-in controls on both models: gamepad buttons, two analog sticks, trackpads, gyro, and four assignable grip buttons. That describes the Deck hardware; it does not establish that skate. works with those controls.

For supported PC play, EA says keyboard and mouse are not supported in Early Access and a controller is required. EA names PS4 DualShock, PS5 DualSense, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, DualSense Edge, and Xbox Elite V1/V2 controllers as compatible. Do not choose either model on the assumption that it is a supported way to play skate. The decisive fact is EA’s explicit Steam Deck exclusion. If comparing the devices for other uses, the OLED has the larger, higher-refresh display and larger battery; those advantages do not change compatibility with skate.
