On an iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This clears saved network configurations, so you will need to reconnect to Wi-Fi and may need to review VPN and roaming settings. On Android, the steps depend on the phone maker and software version; Vodafone manuals document an APN reset on particular handsets, not one universal full-network-reset path.
Before resetting, try the simpler fixes
Apple recommends resetting network settings only after other troubleshooting has failed. First check that Wi-Fi or mobile data is on, turn Airplane Mode off, restart the phone, and check whether another device can connect to the same Wi-Fi network. If a school or employer manages your connection, ask its IT or network administrator before resetting it. Apple’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting guide advises using a network reset only if other solutions fail.
Reset network settings on an iPhone
- Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
- Tap Reset Network Settings and confirm. Do not select Erase All Content and Settings; that is a different action that removes content.
- After the phone restarts, reconnect to Wi-Fi by entering the network password. Review VPN and roaming settings, and confirm the intended cellular line is selected.
Apple says this reset removes all network settings. It removes previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords, and VPN settings that were not installed by a configuration profile or mobile-device management. The iPhone’s device name returns to “iPhone,” manually trusted certificates become untrusted, and cellular data roaming may be switched off. It does not erase personal content or media. Apple’s iPhone User Guide lists Reset Network Settings separately from Delete All eSIMs; do not confuse the two options.
Reset Vodafone network settings on Android
Android menu names and reset options vary by manufacturer and software version, so there is no single Vodafone path that applies to every Android phone. The Vodafone Smart X9 manual, for example, places APN settings under Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Access Point Names, where it offers Reset to default. Vodafone’s Smart Prime 7 manual describes an APN reset through a different, older settings layout. These are handset-specific examples of resetting APN values, not instructions for a full Wi-Fi, mobile-network, and Bluetooth reset. Vodafone Smart X9 user manual

If you want to reset all network connections on Android, look up the current instructions for your exact phone model and Android version. Before confirming any reset, read the on-screen description so you know whether it will affect Wi-Fi, mobile connections, Bluetooth, or saved credentials.
APN reset is different from a full network reset
An APN (Access Point Name) reset restores carrier access-point settings; it is narrower than clearing all network settings. On an iPhone, if your carrier allows APN editing, Apple places the control at Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data > Cellular Data Network/Mobile Data Network > Reset Settings. If Vodafone still shows No Service or Searching
A network-settings reset cannot resolve an outage, a coverage gap, an inactive account, a blocked device, or an unsuitable plan. For iPhone status messages such as No Service or Searching, Apple recommends turning Airplane Mode on for at least 15 seconds and then off, restarting, updating iOS, checking for a carrier settings update at Settings > General > About, and confirming the intended line is enabled if you use Dual SIM. Contact Vodafone to check account status, local coverage or outages, device blocking, and whether your plan is correct. Apple’s No Service or Searching guidance
For a Vodafone Travel eSIM, Vodafone Travel’s guidance also recommends checking that mobile data is enabled for the correct eSIM line and confirming APN settings.
