Kong: Survivor Instinct is listed for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The main confirmed differences are the release dates, Switch’s TV/tabletop/handheld modes, Steam’s published PC minimum requirements, and Xbox’s storefront capability labels. The official listings do not provide comparable graphics, frame-rate, loading-time, or control tests, so they cannot establish which version performs best.
Which platforms have Kong: Survivor Instinct?
The official storefronts list the game for four platform options:
- Nintendo Switch: Nintendo lists a digital edition. Nintendo’s US listing gives a September 30, 2026 release date; Nintendo Canada lists the same date. (Nintendo Canada listing)
- PC: The game is listed on Steam.
- PlayStation 5: It is listed on the US PlayStation Store.
- Xbox Series X|S: It is listed on the US Xbox Store.
The storefronts currently show October 22, 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox, and September 30, 2026 for Switch. These are the dates shown on the respective listings; they do not explain why the Switch release is later.
What is different about the Switch version?
Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes, with one player on one system. Its US listing gives the digital download a size of 1.8 GB. Nintendo also cautions that compatibility and play experience may differ on Switch Lite, so check the listing and your device before buying if you use that model.

Kong: Survivor Instinct Switch vs. PC: what should you compare?
On PC, the practical starting point is whether your computer meets Steam’s minimum specifications. On Switch, the published details emphasize portability and play modes. Neither listing provides a like-for-like benchmark, so these facts help with compatibility and use-case decisions—not with declaring a visual or performance winner.

Steam minimum PC requirements
Steam lists the following minimum requirements for Kong: Survivor Instinct:
- Operating system: 64-bit Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2GB or AMD Radeon RX 460 2GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 9 GB available space
These are minimums, not a promise of a particular frame rate or image quality. Steam’s page does not provide a substantive recommended-specification set. There is also an important distinction for Windows 8.1: although the game’s listed minimum operating systems include it, Steam says its client has been supported on Windows 10 and later since January 1, 2024. The game requirement should not be read as confirmation that the current Steam client supports Windows 8.1.

Xbox capability labels
The Xbox Store lists single-player, 60 fps+, spatial sound, achievements, and cloud saves as capabilities for the Xbox Series X|S listing. These are Xbox storefront labels, not a cross-platform test, and they do not establish equivalent capabilities on Switch or PC.
Is the game 60 fps on Nintendo Switch?
The Nintendo listing does not state a Switch frame rate. The Xbox Store’s 60 fps+ capability label applies to its Xbox listing only. Without comparable platform testing, the official storefront information cannot answer whether the Switch version runs at 60 fps or how its frame rate compares with other versions.

What kind of game is it?
Nintendo describes Kong: Survivor Instinct as a 2.5D action-adventure with platforming, challenging combat, and metroidvania-style exploration. The publisher’s description follows David, an oil-rig worker searching for his daughter Stacy during a Titan attack. It places the Monsterverse story shortly after Godzilla vs. Kong and names Kong, Abaddon, the Hyenas, and ORCA Σ technology. This is the publisher’s description, not an independent assessment of gameplay quality.
