October 19, 2026, marks one calendar month until Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19. That makes it a notable countdown milestone—not a confirmed date for a new trailer, announcement, or Rockstar event.
Why October 19 matters for GTA 6
Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page lists November 19, 2026, as the release date. Take-Two Interactive also gave that date in its June 24, 2026 announcement. October 19 is therefore exactly one calendar month before the currently listed launch date.
The distinction matters: the date’s significance comes from the countdown, not from a separate announcement by Rockstar.
Has Rockstar announced an October 19 event or trailer?
No October 19 trailer, update, or other GTA 6 event is announced in the official Rockstar and Take-Two sources reviewed as of October 7, 2026. Rockstar’s game-page news items at that time included posts dated September 24, September 17, and August 27. Community discussion about October 19 as a milestone does not establish that Rockstar plans to publish anything on that date.

Release date and platforms
Rockstar lists November 19, 2026, as the release date. Take-Two identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms. The sources cited here do not establish a PC launch date.

Rockstar’s official game-page description centers on Jason and Lucia and places the story in the state of Leonida, including Vice City. The page describes the pair this way: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.”
PS5 features
PlayStation describes PS5 features for the game including DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D AudioTech, and use of the PS5 SSD. Take-Two said pre-orders would begin June 25, 2026, at midnight local time. Its announcement also said purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and that digital pre-orders include a free month of GTA+. Bonus eligibility and terms can depend on the live store listing, so confirm them there before purchase.

The physical version is not a disc edition: Take-Two describes it as a boxed copy containing a digital download code. The publisher said boxed-code availability and digital pre-loading would begin November 12, one week before the November 19 launch. Buyers who want a disc should not assume the boxed product includes one.

Rockstar Support says code redemption can depend on the region associated with the platform account. It recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with that account to avoid activation problems. Its regional guidance distinguishes Xbox and PlayStation code rules; check the current Rockstar Support edition and region information before buying a code from another country.
