Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe Meta Quest 3S can be a practical first VR headset: it is wireless, runs the same Quest apps as the more expensive Quest 3, and includes the controllers needed to play. But whether it is on sale for Prime Day—and what any bundle contains—cannot be confirmed without the live retailer listing. Check the current listing for your country before buying; older deal reports do not establish today’s price or extras.
Is the Quest 3S a good first VR headset?
For someone new to VR, the Quest 3S keeps the basic setup simple: it is an all-in-one wireless headset, so there is no PC or console to connect, and Meta says it runs the same Quest apps as Quest 3. Meta lists the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset and 8GB of memory for both headsets. Those shared fundamentals make the 3S a lower-cost way into the Quest app library, rather than a separate, incompatible entry-level platform.
That does not make the Quest 3S the best choice for every buyer. Its lenses and fit adjustments are more limited than Quest 3’s, so people especially sensitive to clarity across the view or precise lens spacing may prefer the higher-end model.
What does the Prime Day bundle actually include?
The exact October 2026 Prime Day or Big Deal Days offer is not established here. Do not assume a reported price, sale deadline, Amazon-exclusive bundle, or included extras based on an earlier event. Confirm the live listing for your country immediately before checkout.

Quest 3S and Quest 3 compared
Meta’s US product page displayed the following prices on October 7, 2026. They are listed prices, not verified Prime Day sale prices. Meta’s launch-era prices were lower, but those historical figures do not establish a current discount.
| Feature | Quest 3S | Quest 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | 128GB or 256GB | Not stated on the cited Meta comparison and product-page sources |
| Displayed US price on October 7, 2026 | $349.99 (128GB); $449.99 (256GB), Meta product page | Not stated on the cited Meta product-page source |
| Display resolution | 1832 × 1920 pixels per eye | 2064 × 2208 pixels per eye |
| Lens type | Fresnel | Not specified in the cited comparison |
| Field of view | 96° horizontal; 90° vertical | 110° horizontal; 96° vertical |
| IPD adjustment | Three preset positions | Continuous adjustment |
| Chipset and memory | Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2; 8GB | Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2; 8GB |
Meta’s official device comparison, updated September 30, 2026, supplies the display and fit specifications. The practical difference is that Quest 3 has a higher per-eye resolution, wider field of view, and continuous IPD adjustment. Quest 3S uses three preset lens-spacing positions, which may be less accommodating if none suits your eyes.

Which storage size should you choose?
Meta currently lists Quest 3S in 128GB and 256GB versions. The larger option costs $100 more at the US prices displayed October 7, 2026. Choose based on how much content you expect to keep installed; the available evidence does not establish how much storage any particular buyer will need. Do not treat the $299.99 and $399.99 prices in Meta’s launch-era article as current prices or as evidence of a present sale.
Who should choose Quest 3S—and who should consider Quest 3?
Quest 3S makes sense if
- You want a wireless headset that works without a gaming PC or console.
- You want access to the Quest app library and are comfortable with Fresnel lenses and three preset IPD positions.
- The live price for your preferred storage size fits your budget better than Quest 3.
Consider Quest 3 if
- You value its higher per-eye resolution and wider field of view.
- You want continuous IPD adjustment rather than choosing among three presets.
- The improved optics and fit options matter more to you than the lower-cost entry point.
Meta’s description of Quest 3S as bringing Quest 3’s power and performance “to a larger audience at an unreal price” is promotional language, not an independent value judgment. The useful case for a first-time buyer is more concrete: shared app compatibility and core hardware, with a lower-cost option—but with a clear optical and fit compromise.

Check compatibility before adding accessories
Meta lists a Quest 3S breathable facial interface as an optional accessory. If you are considering a replacement interface or other add-on, verify that the exact model is compatible with Quest 3S before ordering. Do not assume an accessory for another Quest headset will fit.
