A notification alone does not show that your individual shopping account was accessed. If you also see unfamiliar orders, changed account details, or a payment you do not recognise, secure the account and contact ASOS and your bank through official channels.
First, work out which situation applies
ASOS’s October 6, 2026 notice describes an unauthorised push notification and activity involving third-party platforms it uses to communicate with customers. ASOS says basic personal information, including names and contact details, may have been accessed. Its preliminary assessment is that payment-card information and account passwords were not affected; that statement is not an independent guarantee about every individual account. The notice does not confirm that ASOS’s shopping account system or a Snowflake instance was hacked. Read ASOS Customer Care’s notice.

- Notification only: Follow ASOS’s current instruction to disregard the notification and avoid its external link. The company says it is not asking customers to change passwords or take other action at this time.
- Account-specific warning signs: Unfamiliar orders, a changed email address or delivery address, an unfamiliar saved payment method, or inability to sign in warrant action on your account.
- Unrecognised transaction: Contact your bank or card issuer about a charge you cannot identify, and report a suspected unauthorised ASOS transaction through ASOS Help.
ASOS’s guidance may change as its investigation continues. Check the latest ASOS notice and the National Cyber Security Centre’s incident guidance.
If you received only the notification
Do not tap the link in the notification or reply to it. ASOS Customer Care’s October 6, 2026 notice says: “Customers should disregard the unauthorised notification and should not click or engage with the external third-party link it contained.” ASOS also says: “We are not currently asking customers to change their ASOS account password or take any other action.” Those are the company’s current instructions for the notification itself, not a reason to ignore separate evidence of account misuse.

The NCSC’s October 6, 2026 incident guidance likewise says: “Do not click on any suspicious links, including those you receive in push notifications, or via emails or messages.” If the notification has made you concerned, open ASOS by typing its address yourself or using its official app, rather than following a link in a message.
If you see signs your individual account was accessed
Review the account and recover access
- Open ASOS directly through its official website or app. Check recent orders and account details, especially the email address, delivery addresses, and saved payment methods.
- If you cannot sign in or find changes you did not make, use ASOS’s account recovery and support guidance. Reach support through the official Help pages.
- Change your ASOS password. ASOS’s account help page says a new password must be 10–100 characters and different from your previous password.
- Change the password anywhere else you reused it, particularly for your email account. Use a different password for each service, and turn on two-step verification wherever it is offered. The NCSC’s guidance on hacked accounts recommends changing reused passwords and using unique ones.
Securing your email matters because access to that inbox may help someone reset passwords or intercept account messages. If you suspect the email account itself was accessed, secure it with its provider’s official recovery process as well.

If you see a payment you do not recognise
Check your bank or card statement, then contact the card issuer or bank about any transaction you still cannot identify. For a suspected unauthorised ASOS transaction, ASOS’s cyber security guidance asks customers to contact it through its Help pages and provide the transaction date, time, amount and currency, plus the card’s last four digits. Do not send a full card number or screenshots of bank accounts by email or chat.
Before treating an ASOS-branded charge as fraud, consider whether it could be a Premier subscription, an order placed by someone with access to the card, another card associated with the account, or a pending charge for a cancelled order. If you still do not recognise it, contact your payment provider and report the suspected ASOS issue through official Help pages.

Be cautious of unexpected emails, texts, push notifications, or direct messages claiming your ASOS account is compromised and demanding an urgent reset. Do not use their links to sign in or provide account or payment details. Find ASOS support through its official website or verified social account instead. ASOS says it will never ask for passwords or card details through social-media direct messages, and warns customers not to post card details publicly. See ASOS’s security advice.
