Short answer: Anthropic’s reported computing commitments point to substantial demand for AI infrastructure, and NVIDIA disclosed a conditional agreement to invest up to $10 billion in the company. But the reported disclosures do not establish that Anthropic’s spending will go to Nvidia, boost Nvidia’s profits, or make its stock a buy. The specific Nvidia-related quote implied by the original headline has not been verified in the sources reviewed here.
What did Anthropic’s reported IPO materials say about Nvidia?
The precise Nvidia-related “1 Quote” in the original headline cannot be confirmed from the available reporting. Reuters reported on September 29, 2026, that it had reviewed a confidential Anthropic prospectus, but the full prospectus was not identified in the reviewed SEC material. The reported details support an analysis of Anthropic’s infrastructure needs and Nvidia’s investment, not a claim that a particular prospectus sentence recommends or predicts a Nvidia stock gain.
Reuters did quote the prospectus on Anthropic’s dependence on commercial partners. It said those partners offer “market penetration at a scale we believe would be difficult for any single organization to directly replicate.” The prospectus also warned that reliance on partners “creates complex dynamics that could give rise to conflicts of interest and adversely affect our access to compute.” Those statements concern distribution and access to computing; they are not, on their own, a forecast of Nvidia sales.
What the reported figures show
The figures below are Reuters’ account of confidential prospectus material, not figures independently verified here from a public S-1 filing.

| Reported item | Figure and qualification | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 revenue | Nearly $4.6 billion, up twelvefold, according to Reuters’ September 29, 2026, report on the prospectus. | Suggests rapid growth, but growth alone does not establish profitability or the amount available to spend on computing. |
| 2025 operating losses | More than $8 billion, as reported by Reuters from the prospectus. | Shows the scale of losses alongside growth and makes the cost and financing of expansion important to the investment thesis. |
| Cloud marketplace sales | About $2.16 billion, or 47% of 2025 annual revenue, through Amazon and Google, according to Reuters’ prospectus reporting. | Cloud partners are also distribution channels and investors, so they can help reach customers while creating interdependence. |
| Marketplace fees | About $351 million, according to Reuters’ analysis of the reported marketplace sales. | Marketplace revenue is not the same as revenue retained after fees. |
| Non-cancellable hosting and computing commitments | $54.6 billion at the end of 2025, according to Reuters’ report on the prospectus. | Indicates sizable contracted infrastructure obligations; it does not identify how much is payable to Nvidia. |
| Total long-term commitments | More than $417 billion by early 2026, covering 3.5 gigawatts of dedicated computing capacity, as Reuters reported. | This is a broader total than the end-2025 non-cancellable hosting and computing figure; it should not be read as all immediately due or all owed to one supplier. |
Why this can be read as a bullish signal for Nvidia
Large compute plans point to infrastructure demand
Building and operating advanced AI services requires significant computing capacity. Anthropic’s reported commitments and planned dedicated capacity are evidence of a large infrastructure buildout. Nvidia supplies AI computing products, so investors may view expanding AI workloads as supportive of demand across the infrastructure sector.
Nvidia has disclosed a financial link to Anthropic
NVIDIA said in its 2026 fiscal-year proxy statement that it entered into an agreement in November 2025 to invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic, subject to closing conditions. This gives Nvidia a disclosed financial connection to a major AI company as well as potential exposure to the sector’s growth. The agreement is conditional, however; NVIDIA said there was no assurance it would be completed on expected terms, or at all.

What the disclosures do not prove
- They do not show that the commitments flow to Nvidia. The reported figures describe Anthropic’s hosting and computing commitments, but the reviewed reporting does not establish the supplier mix or the share spent on Nvidia products.
- They do not establish incremental Nvidia revenue or profit. Even if some spending supports Nvidia, the amount, timing, margins, and effect on cash flow are not established by the prospectus figures reported here.
- They do not show that Nvidia stock is undervalued. A company can benefit from industry demand and still have a share price that already reflects investors’ expectations.
- They do not make Nvidia’s investment certain. The up-to-$10-billion agreement is conditional, and NVIDIA disclosed that completion is not assured.
Risks and counterpoints in Anthropic’s reported picture
Growth comes with losses and large obligations
Reuters reported that Anthropic’s 2025 operating losses exceeded $8 billion even as revenue rose sharply. The reported computing commitments also represent a significant long-term obligation. Together, those facts make the durability of revenue, funding, and spending plans relevant to the infrastructure-demand thesis; they do not establish that the company will default or that its plans will change.
Revenue is concentrated in important ways
Reuters reported that two unnamed customers each accounted for 12% of Anthropic’s 2025 revenue, and that many large customers were not bound by long-term contracts. It also reported that 47% of annual revenue came through Amazon and Google marketplace sales. The prospectus warning about partner conflicts and access to compute underscores that distribution relationships can be valuable while also creating dependencies.

Government business was a small share, but policy could have wider effects
Reuters reported that government contracts accounted for less than 1% of annual revenue. The reported prospectus also warned that government attitudes toward Anthropic could affect broader commercial relationships and its partners. The revenue share and the potential for wider effects are separate points: a small direct government business does not rule out indirect commercial consequences.

Associated Press reported on June 1, 2026, that Anthropic said a confidential IPO filing gave it “the option to go public after the SEC completes its review,” and that a proposed offering would depend on market conditions and other factors. AP also reported that Anthropic had not decided the number of shares or the price. A confidential filing is not the same as a completed public offering with shares available to trade.

The SEC EDGAR detail reviewed for WU Anthropic LP is a Form D dated June 1, 2026, not a public S-1 prospectus. Accordingly, the reported confidential-prospectus details should not be described as verified contents of a publicly available S-1. Investors should look for an effective registration statement and official offering terms before treating an IPO as available to buy.
For Nvidia investors, the practical takeaway is to treat Anthropic’s reported commitments as a possible indicator of AI infrastructure demand, not as a direct Nvidia sales forecast. Further diligence would need to establish the compute suppliers and accelerator mix, which commitments are cancellable or contingent, how Anthropic’s revenue growth compares with losses and partner fees, and whether Nvidia can convert demand into sustained margins and cash flow. Valuation and what investors already expect also matter.
