Then measure the finished display—including its base, plaque, cape and projecting parts—and compare all three measurements with the case’s usable interior dimensions. Capacity, access, placement and protection claims matter too; a case advertised for a particular set still needs to fit your exact build and display setup.
Start with what you want to display
A minifigure frame or compartment case is designed for figures, not a large vehicle or scene. For a Batmobile, Batwing, Batcave or multi-part build, look for a larger enclosure sized to the assembled model.
The difference is clear in LEGO’s own product dimensions. Its Minifigure Display Case 16 has 16 separate compartments and measures about 37 × 18 × 4 cm overall. The LEGO Play and Display Case has two levels beneath a transparent cover and measures about 39 × 19 × 14 cm overall. Neither format is long enough for LEGO’s Classic TV Series Batmobile set 76328, which LEGO lists at over 50 cm long once built. LEGO’s set 76328 specifications, LEGO Minifigure Display Case 16, and LEGO Play and Display Case provide the cited dimensions and features.
Measure the finished build against interior dimensions
Measure length, width and height in the orientation you intend to display the model. Include its base, display plaque, cape, wings, accessories and any parts that affect the footprint or height. Compare those measurements with the case’s usable interior dimensions—not its exterior size or a general claim of set compatibility.

LEGO lists the completed 76328 Classic TV Series Batmobile at over 50 cm long, 18 cm wide and 14 cm high. Those are model dimensions, not a recommended case size: allow extra room around the build, especially if it has fragile projections or you need to reach inside. BrickShell Cases lists an acrylic case made for set 76328, but confirm the case’s internal measurements and exact configuration with the seller before ordering. BrickShell’s 76328 case listing is a retailer specification, not an independent fit test.
For minifigures, check capacity and depth
Count the figures you intend to display and consider whether capes, oversized accessories or unusual characters need more depth than standard figures. Capacity alone does not establish that every figure will fit comfortably.

- Smaller Batman group: Minifigures Display lists a Batman Movie frame for 20 figures. Its stated external size is 25 × 25 cm, with a depth of 4.5 cm; the listing describes a plexiglass front and hanging or freestanding placement. See the 20-figure frame listing.
- Larger Batman collection: The same retailer lists a Batman-themed frame measuring 52 × 52 cm externally, with 3.7 cm of interior depth, in capacities of 77, 105 or 112 figures. Confirm the selected capacity and configuration on the live listing. See the large-frame listing.
- Separate compartments: LEGO’s Minifigure Display Case 16 has 16 compartments, a transparent clasp door and stacking studs. Its overall size is about 37 × 18 × 4 cm; it is described for wall mounting or placement on a flat surface. Check LEGO’s Case 16 specifications.
These measurements and capacities are the listed product specifications. Check usable space and the particular option you plan to buy, especially if the collection includes figures with capes or large accessories.
Match the case to its placement and access needs
Decide whether the display will hang on a wall or sit on a shelf, and how often you expect to rearrange it. A front that opens or comes off can make access easier; a more enclosed case can help limit routine dust exposure. Check the opening method and whether figures or builds can be removed without scraping or catching them.

- For wall mounting: Check the case’s mounting method, weight, required fasteners and whether the wall is suitable. Do not assume that a display described as wall-mountable includes hardware for every wall type.
- For a shelf: Compare the case’s outside footprint with the available surface and consider stability, especially for a tall or heavily loaded display.
- For flexible placement: The Batman Movie frame listing describes hanging and freestanding use; LEGO says Case 16 can be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface. Confirm how the selected product is supported in each position.
Compare display formats by the job they do

Look at whether the case is enclosed, how its panels open, the material and viewing clarity, and whether built-in studs, a background or a display base suit the collection. LEGO describes Case 16 as having a transparent clasp door and separate compartments. Its Play and Display Case has a transparent cover and six gray baseplates arranged over two levels. LEGO’s Play and Display Case specifications describe that layout.

Retailers advertise dust or UV protection on selected cases, but those descriptions are product claims, not independent durability or performance tests. For example, BrickShell advertises dust and UV protection for its 76328 case, and Wicked Brick advertises UV protection and dust proofing for an acrylic case for the Batman Movie Collectable Minifigure Series 2 set 71020. The cited listings do not establish quantified protection ratings or comparative test results, so do not treat the claims as proof that a case prevents dust entry or fading. BrickShell’s listing and Wicked Brick’s listing state the retailers’ claims.

- Measure the finished display in its intended orientation, including the base and projecting parts.
- Compare length, width and height with the seller’s usable interior dimensions, and leave practical clearance for access and fragile pieces.
- For figures, check capacity, depth, compartment layout and room for capes or accessories.
- Confirm how the case opens and whether its hanging or shelf placement suits the intended location.
- Review material, clarity, stability and any advertised dust or UV protection as claims unless independent performance evidence is provided.
