To move data to a new Motorola phone, use the copy-data option in its Android setup and follow the prompts to transfer directly from your old phone or restore a Google-account backup. The setup flow lets you choose what to copy, but some files and account data may need separate handling.
What you can transfer from one Motorola phone to another
Motorola says its Android copy flow can transfer apps and app data, music, photos and videos, Google accounts, contacts saved on the phone or SIM, text messages and multimedia message attachments, most phone settings, wallpaper, and call history. What appears depends on the source and destination phones and the options shown during setup. Motorola’s copy-data guide describes the available categories.
Do not assume the process makes a complete clone. Motorola lists these items as not copied by the documented Android flow:
- Downloads, including PDF files
- Apps that were not installed from the Play Store
- Accounts other than Google accounts
- Contacts and calendars for non-Google services, with WhatsApp given as an example
- Ringtones
Check those items on the old phone and handle them separately if you need them on the new one. App data availability can also vary by app, so open important apps after transfer and confirm that the information you need is there.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Transfer data during Motorola phone setup
- Prepare both phones. Charge and turn on the old phone and the new Motorola. Connect the new phone to Wi-Fi and, when the on-screen instructions or model guide call for it, connect both phones to the same network. Motorola’s moto g 2025 and moto g power 2025 guide specifies the same Wi-Fi network for its post-setup transfer steps.
- Begin setup on the new phone. Follow the on-screen Android setup prompts until you reach the option to copy apps and data from an old phone or restore a backup.
- Choose the source. Select your old phone for a direct transfer, or choose the Google-account backup if you are restoring saved data. Keep the old phone available and follow the instructions displayed on the new Motorola.
- Choose what to copy. Select the categories offered by the setup flow, then let the transfer or restore finish before checking the new phone.
Motorola’s support guidance describes the setup flow as a way to copy apps, music, contacts, messages, and more. Available choices and labels can differ by Motorola model and software version.
If you already set up the new Motorola
You may be able to resume the copy process without resetting the phone. Motorola’s support instructions refer to a Settings option called “Finish setting up your device.” Other Motorola guides point to an Android Setup notification or “Continue Setup Wizard.” Open the option that appears on your phone; the exact wording and location vary by model and software version. Motorola’s copy-data instructions and its razr family user guide describe continuation options.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
If the old phone is unavailable
If the old phone cannot turn on or is no longer available, choose the Google-account backup offered during setup and sign in with the same Google account used for that backup. Motorola says the new phone can copy files from the cloud using the Google account backup. The content available to restore depends on what was included in that backup; a backup should not be treated as a guaranteed copy of every file or account.
Transfer from an iPhone to a Motorola
If the old phone is an iPhone, use the migration route and categories supported by your specific Motorola model rather than assuming the Android-to-Android options apply. The razr 60 ultra help page describes migrating common content such as contacts, photos, videos, messages, calendars, and some app data. It says photos already in Google Photos do not need to be migrated again and that iCloud photos and videos appear in Google Photos under the iCloud tab.

Motorola documents a cable-based route for iPhone migration in its razr family guide, and the razr 60 ultra instructions say a cable can speed up that transfer. Use a compatible data cable if the instructions for your model call for one. Some older iPhones may need a Lightning-to-USB-C cable; check both phones’ ports and follow the on-screen prompts. This guidance does not mean a cable is required for every Motorola-to-Motorola transfer.
Import SIM contacts and check for duplicates
Motorola’s Android copy list includes contacts saved on the phone or SIM. If contacts remain on a SIM, open the Contacts app on the new phone and use its import option to choose whether to save them to a Google account or to the device. Menu wording can vary by Contacts app version. Motorola’s razr 60 ultra help page advises merging duplicate contacts after migration.

Check important data after the transfer
Once setup or restoration is complete, review the items you rely on before erasing or trading in the old phone:
- Contacts, including SIM contacts and duplicates
- Photos, videos, and music
- Text messages and message attachments
- Downloads such as PDFs
- Important apps and their data
- Non-Google accounts, calendars, and other service-specific information
- Ringtones and other files that the copy flow excludes
For categories the setup process does not copy, use the original app, account, or file location’s own export, sync, or import option where available. Confirm you can access the data on the new phone before removing the old device from your possession.
