Keep only alerts tied to a decision you might actually make, and use one-time or limited-repeat notifications where the app allows it. Price alerts can help you notice a move, but they are notifications—not automatic trades—and there is no universally best Bitcoin price or alert schedule.
Build a small set of alerts around decisions
Before adding an alert, ask what you would do if it arrived. Set alerts for price levels or percentage moves that would change your next step, rather than for every market fluctuation. This is a practical way to reduce interruptions, not an experimentally established threshold or investment recommendation.
Choose a trigger that matches the decision you have in mind. Depending on the platform, you may be able to set a specific price above or below the current price, a percentage move, or a change over 24 hours. Available trigger types vary by service; for example, Binance documents price-reached, above, below, percentage-change, and 24-hour-change triggers in its price-alert guide.
Choose a repeat setting that limits noise
Repeat controls are often the most direct way to manage alert volume. When available, start with a one-time notification or the least frequent option that still gives you a useful reminder. Avoid continuous repeats unless you specifically want repeated prompts while a condition remains true.

These settings are not named or implemented consistently across services. Binance.US offers once, once per day, or always in its mobile-app alert settings. Crypto.com Exchange offers once-only or repeat alerts; its help page says a repeating alert can notify every minute while the selected condition remains true, and notes the feature may not be available in some jurisdictions (Crypto.com Exchange Price Alerts). Robinhood’s US crypto-alert page describes Less and More frequency settings: Less is capped at one alert hourly and three daily per crypto, while More allows one alert hourly without a daily limit (Robinhood Crypto price alerts). Those limits apply to the documented Robinhood US crypto alerts, not necessarily to other regions or alert types.
Compare the controls before relying on an app
Check the trigger options, repeat frequency, alert caps or expiry, delivery channels, and geographic availability for the specific service you use. Product limits are not industry-wide rules, and features can change.

Review and prune active alerts
Periodically look at your active-alert list. Remove alerts that are obsolete, duplicated, or no longer connected to a decision. Coinbase and Binance.US document ways to manage alerts; exact controls may differ by app version and region.

If notifications are becoming disruptive, first reduce repeat frequency or turn off price-alert categories you do not need. Keep separate account or security notifications enabled if you rely on them; those serve a different purpose from market alerts.
Fix missing or excessive notifications
- Confirm the alert is active. Check that its price or percentage condition and repeat setting are still what you intended.
- Check the app’s alert controls. Coinbase documents push, in-app, and email toggles; Binance advises enabling app notifications in device settings.
- Check device or browser permissions. Your phone or browser may block notifications even when the alert itself is active.
- For Kraken mobile alerts, check both levels. Enable push notifications in the device settings and in the Kraken app, as described in Kraken’s Market Alerts guidance.
Provider documentation does not establish comparative alert reliability or guarantee instant delivery, so do not treat a price notification as a time-critical execution mechanism.

Remember what a price alert does—and does not do
A price alert tells you that a condition has been reached; it does not necessarily buy or sell Bitcoin. Coinbase explicitly says its alerts are notifications and do not place orders (Coinbase Help). Check the feature description and terms of your own platform rather than assuming an alert will execute a trade.
