That does not confirm that Pixel 11’s new Charge design or expanded clock styles have arrived on older models: those remain separate features unless confirmed for a specific device.
What is coming to older Pixel phones?
A September 16, 2026 report from Droid Life says Android 17 QPR1 is rolling out multiple-screen-saver controls on supported Pixel devices. Users can choose more than one screen saver, set their order, swipe in from the edge of the display to move between them, or touch and hold to open a quick switcher.
The update is about selecting and navigating screen savers. It is not confirmation that every screen saver introduced with Pixel 11 is available on older phones. Rollout and eligibility depend on device support and update status.
Which Pixel 11 features are distinct?
In an August 20, 2026 report, 9to5Google described Pixel 11 features including a Charge screen saver showing the time and battery level, along with expanded analog and digital clock customization. The report did not establish that those designs were available on older Pixels.

Keep the distinction clear: QPR1 brings multi-screen-saver selection and switching to supported older devices; the Charge look and additional clock designs are Pixel 11 features reported separately. The available reporting does not confirm their migration to older models.
How to set up a screen saver on a Pixel
Google’s Pixel Phone Help says a screen saver can show photos, colorful backgrounds, a clock, and other content while a phone is charging or docked. Available choices may vary by device and software version.

- Open Settings > Display & touch > Screen saver.
- Turn on Use screen saver.
- Choose the screen saver content and other settings you want.
- To control when it appears, select When to show. Google lists options including While charging and While upright and charging.
Google also documents an option to restrict screen saver use to wireless charging. A Pixel Stand or another compatible charging setup can be useful, but buying a stand is not a requirement for the QPR1 controls.
What can the screen saver show?
- Clock: Display a clock while the phone is charging or docked.
- Photos: Use a personal photo frame; photo access requires permission.
- Weather: Show weather information where available; this requires permission.
- Charging status or home controls: Choose these options if they appear in the screen saver settings on your device.
How to switch and reorder screen savers
When multiple screen savers are active, Google’s instructions describe swiping in from the display edge to switch between them. Touch and hold to view the active screen saver overview, then drag items to change their order. The controls reported for Android 17 QPR1 make it possible to choose and arrange multiple screen savers rather than being limited to a single selection.

What happens in a dim room?
Google says the screen saver can respond to low light by switching to a low-light clock or turning the screen off. By default, a dim environment changes the display to a low-light clock. The available behavior and settings may depend on the device.

The QPR1 report describes a rollout on supported devices, so the feature may not appear on every Pixel at the same time. Check Settings > Display & touch > Screen saver after your phone receives Android 17 QPR1. If there is no option to select multiple screen savers, your device may not yet have the update or may not be among the supported models. The cited reporting does not specify a complete model-by-model eligibility list.
