Connect MOMENTUM 5 Wireless to a phone or laptop over Bluetooth

- Select MOMENTUM 5 Wireless from the available devices and complete pairing if prompted.
Sennheiser describes a general Bluetooth pairing process rather than specifying a minimum operating-system version. A laptop needs Bluetooth for this wireless connection; if it does not have Bluetooth, consider a wired connection instead.

With a Windows PC connected, Sennheiser says switching follows active playback, notifications, or calls. For manual switching in that Windows-PC scenario, use the app on a paired phone.

Bluetooth codecs depend on the source
Sennheiser lists SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and Snapdragon Sound. A successful Bluetooth connection does not mean every listed codec is available: the source device must support the codec, particularly for aptX variants. The optional Sennheiser BTD 700 adapter is one route to aptX when a source does not support it natively; it is not needed for ordinary Bluetooth connectivity.
Use a wired connection instead
USB-C audio
The headphones support USB-C audio. Sennheiser states support for up to 24-bit/96 kHz in audio-playback-only use; that resolution may not be available when the headset microphone is selected. If a computer does not recognize the headphones over USB-C, check that the cable supports data transfer—Sennheiser recommends the supplied cable where possible—and select the headphones as the computer’s audio output.

Analog audio
For a standard 3.5 mm source output, use the supplied 2.5 mm-to-3.5 mm cable: the headphones’ AUX port is 2.5 mm. The headphones must be powered on for analog listening.

Sennheiser specifies up to 57 hours of Bluetooth music playback with ANC, based on its 2026 product information. The stated test condition is an iPhone at medium volume; this is a manufacturer maximum, not a guaranteed runtime for every device or listening pattern.
