EPOS announced the IMPACT 400 Wireless on October 6, 2026, as a Bluetooth headset for open offices and hybrid work. It pairs a boom microphone with hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), Teams open-office certification, and a battery EPOS says users can replace without tools. The 99% speech-recognition result and battery figures are manufacturer-reported laboratory claims—not guarantees of performance in every workplace.
What is the EPOS IMPACT 400 Wireless?
The IMPACT 400 Wireless is a double-sided, on-ear Bluetooth headset designed for professional calls. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy Audio and the LC3 codec, and can maintain two simultaneous Bluetooth connections. EPOS includes a BTD 400c USB-C Bluetooth dongle and a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter for computers with either port.
EPOS lists a wireless range of up to 98 feet (30 meters). That is a maximum, not a promised distance in every workspace: connected devices, obstructions, wireless interference, and other conditions can affect range.
The headset weighs 145 grams and has a reversible boom microphone, fold-flat construction, call and volume controls, ANC and Teams controls, and a mute-status LED. EPOS says lifting the boom mutes the microphone and lowering it answers a call. The model is supported by EPOS Connect and EPOS Manager software.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Does it work in an open office?
EPOS says third-party laboratory testing under the Microsoft Azure Speech Test Specification produced 99% word recognition in a noisy environment. The stated test used English speech at 89 dBSPL at the mouth reference point, with surrounding noise at 70 dBA. EPOS cautions that real-world results may vary, so the figure should be read as a result under those test conditions rather than a guarantee for a particular office, speaker, or call platform.
For calls, the headset combines a boom microphone with AI-based environmental noise reduction. EPOS describes its ANC as hybrid ANC powered by EPOS BrainAdapt. ANC is intended to reduce noise the wearer hears; microphone noise reduction addresses what call participants hear. Neither feature means an open office will become silent.

EPOS lists Microsoft Teams with Premium Microphone for Open Office certification. It also lists compatibility or certification for Zoom Workplace and Call Center, Google Meet, and Webex by Cisco. The release does not establish that every platform has identical feature support, so check platform-specific requirements if a particular control or function is essential to your organization.

|---|---|
| Talk time, ANC on and busy light on | Up to 39 hours |

These are manufacturer maximums, not a runtime guarantee. Settings, usage conditions, and battery age affect actual endurance. In particular, the 39-hour talk-time figure explicitly includes ANC and the busy light being on; the 47-hour figure is with ANC off.
Can you replace the battery or ear pads?
EPOS says the battery can be replaced without tools and that the ear pads are replaceable. The release does not identify a Wireless-specific replacement-pad part number or confirm retailer stock, so verify compatibility before ordering pads. A reversible boom and fold-flat construction also make the headset easier to adapt or pack, though EPOS does not provide a carrying-case detail in the launch information.

How does it fit among EPOS work headsets?
The IMPACT 400 Wireless adds a wireless option to the IMPACT 400 family, alongside wired IMPACT 400 and IMPACT 400 ANC variants. Avoid assuming that specifications or accessories listed for those other models apply to the Wireless version.
EPOS positions the IMPACT 500 and IMPACT 1000 as higher-range Bluetooth options in its portfolio. The company says the IMPACT 1000 adds adaptive ANC, wear detection, triple connectivity, incoming speech clarity, and wireless charging. These are EPOS’s product-family descriptions, not independent comparative test results.
In the launch announcement, Søren Holm Printz, EPOS vice president of strategy and product management, said the headset gives organizations a practical way to equip hybrid teams at scale, combining certified open-office microphone performance, hybrid ANC, and long battery life. That is the company’s positioning; the announcement does not include independent review testing of the IMPACT 400 Wireless.
