The confirmed HP OmniBook Ultra 14 configurations use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100. The processor specifications differ substantially from the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100, but the available HP material does not confirm an OmniBook Ultra configuration with the X1 Plus. That means this is a comparison of chip specifications—not a verified, same-laptop performance comparison.
Is there an OmniBook Ultra with Snapdragon X1 Plus?
HP’s regional product and sales pages confirm OmniBook Ultra 14 models with the Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100. The HP X1 Plus product material identified for comparison is for an OmniBook X, a different product line. Without a specific OmniBook Ultra X1 Plus SKU, it would be misleading to describe the two chips as options in the same Ultra chassis or to claim a measured upgrade between otherwise identical laptops.
HP’s January 5, 2026 portfolio announcement described the OmniBook Ultra 14 in the context of an HP-exclusive Snapdragon X2 Elite variant and next-generation Intel Core Ultra processors. HP’s regional pages subsequently list X2 Plus configurations, which are distinct evidence about products offered in those markets. The announcement does not establish an X1 Plus Ultra configuration. HP’s January 5, 2026 announcement and the HP Ireland specification and HP UK listing show the distinction.
Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100 vs. X1 Plus X1P-42-100
Qualcomm’s published specifications show more CPU cores, higher listed CPU and graphics frequencies, more cache, and a higher NPU TOPS figure for the X2P-64-100 than for the X1P-42-100. They are manufacturer platform specifications, not independent tests of two laptops.

| Specification | Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100 | Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU cores | 10 | 8 |
| CPU frequency | Up to 4.0GHz | Up to 3.2GHz multithread frequency |
| Total cache | 34MB | 30MB |
| Integrated graphics | Adreno X2-45 at 1.7GHz | Adreno X1-45 up to 1.25GHz |
| NPU | 80 TOPS | Up to 45 TOPS |
| Memory platform | LPDDR5x, up to 152GB/s bandwidth | LPDDR5x, up to 135GB/s bandwidth |
These figures apply to the named processor parts. Both families include other SKUs, so a comparison using only “X2 Plus” and “X1 Plus” may not describe the specific chips in two laptops. Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon X2 Plus specifications and Snapdragon X Plus specifications.
What the confirmed OmniBook Ultra 14 configurations include

A separate HP UK listing, SKU D8VZ9EA, also names the X2P-64-100 and 16GB of memory, but lists a 512GB SSD and a 14-inch 2K OLED touchscreen. The differing storage illustrates why the exact regional SKU matters; a processor-family name alone does not establish the whole configuration. HP’s UK listing for D8VZ9EA displayed £1,229 including VAT after a promotion when observed for this article. That is a dated listing snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or availability.

CPU and graphics specifications
The X2P-64-100 has two more listed CPU cores than the X1P-42-100, as well as higher stated frequencies and a newer Adreno graphics designation. Those specifications suggest differences in hardware capability, but they do not quantify how much faster a particular laptop will feel or perform. Laptop cooling, power limits, memory configuration, software, and the specific workload all affect results.

NPU TOPS
The X2P-64-100’s 80 TOPS versus the X1P-42-100’s up to 45 TOPS is an NPU specification, not a general laptop-speed score. It does not show that every AI feature or application will run faster: software must use the accelerator, and performance depends on system configuration, optimization, and usage conditions. HP notes those dependencies in its January 5, 2026 announcement.
Real-world comparison
No matched test of OmniBook Ultra laptops with these two processors is established here. A defensible performance comparison would require the same laptop design and comparable memory, power settings, software, and test conditions. There is therefore no supported percentage uplift to quote for battery life, sustained CPU or GPU work, thermals, or application compatibility.

How to compare listings before buying
- Check the full processor part number. Look for X2P-64-100 or X1P-42-100 rather than relying on “X2 Plus” or “X1 Plus”; each family includes multiple processor SKUs.
- Confirm the laptop line and regional SKU. Verify that the listing says OmniBook Ultra 14, then compare its exact product code with HP’s specification page. Do not assume an OmniBook X is an Ultra variant.
- Compare the rest of the configuration. Check memory, SSD capacity, display, battery, ports, weight, included accessories, and warranty alongside the processor. HP’s two listed Ultra examples differ in storage capacity.
- Match evidence to your workload. For battery life, sustained processing, graphics, or app support, look for independent tests of the exact or closely matched laptop configuration. Chip specifications alone cannot settle those questions.
- Recheck the regional listing at purchase. HP product availability, price, and configurations can change; the UK promotional price noted above is not a standing offer.
