If a Fortnite Item Shop purchase or V-Bucks balance is missing, restart Fortnite, then check that you’re signed in to the Epic account and on the platform used for the purchase. Review your transaction history and allow up to two hours for purchases made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung devices to appear. If the transaction is still missing, contact the store that processed the payment.
Work through these checks first
- Restart Fortnite. This refreshes the displayed V-Bucks balance. Epic recommends restarting as an initial check in its missing V-Bucks troubleshooting steps.
- Sign in on the platform where you bought V-Bucks. Epic says online V-Bucks are added when you sign in to Fortnite on the same platform used to buy them. For example, sign in to Fortnite on PlayStation after a PlayStation purchase. V-Bucks purchases do not include a redemption code and cannot be gifted to another account.
- Confirm the Epic account. Check that the Epic Games account ID associated with the purchase matches the account shown in your Fortnite profile. A different Epic account can make a purchase appear to be missing.
- Allow the applicable processing time. Epic says a purchase made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or a Samsung device can take up to two hours to appear. This is platform-specific guidance, not a universal guarantee for every purchase type. Epic also recommends checking the console’s date, time, and time zone. See Epic’s console purchase guidance.
- Check whether the payment completed. Open Epic’s Transaction History and look for the purchase. If there is no transaction record, check with your bank or payment provider before buying again; retrying immediately could result in a duplicate charge.
- Check the balance on the purchase platform. Some V-Bucks balances are redeemable only on a specified platform, while others can be used on any platform. Compare the balance sections in your Epic account and check Fortnite on the platform where you made the purchase. Epic explains the balance categories in its V-Bucks support article.
- Contact the seller if the purchase remains missing. For purchases made through PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo, contact that platform’s support. Epic says it cannot process refunds or investigate purchases made through those platforms. For an Epic Games Store purchase that remains missing, submit an Epic support request and include the order number, amount, and platform you play on.

The V-Bucks or item is missing in Fortnite
Follow the checks above, especially the Epic account, purchase platform, transaction record, and platform-specific balance. For a V-Bucks purchase, Epic’s guidance is to sign in on the platform where you bought it.

The PlayStation Item Shop or Buy V-Bucks screen is blank
A blank shop is a display or access problem and does not by itself show that a purchase went through. Epic identifies a license or cache issue as possible causes and links to PlayStation’s instructions for restoring licenses and using Safe Mode to clear the cache or rebuild the database. Follow the current steps in Epic’s PlayStation shop troubleshooting guidance; the exact procedure depends on PlayStation’s instructions.
The Fortnite Web Shop shows the wrong balance
In the Web Shop, use the Refresh control next to the balance, then select Sync Now, as described in Epic’s Web Shop balance guidance. This refreshes the web display; it does not replace checking the purchase platform, Epic account, or transaction record.

- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
An Item Shop listing appears online but cannot be purchased
A web listing can remain searchable after an item is no longer available. Check its end date: the Item Shop rotates, and the item may return later. That is different from a completed purchase missing from your account. See Epic’s Item Shop availability guidance.
You received the item but want to undo the purchase
That is a return or cancellation issue, not a missing-purchase fix. Epic says Cancel Purchase may be available for most eligible cosmetics within 24 hours if the item has not been used or equipped. Eligible purchases made within the last 30 days may qualify for a Return Ticket. A return removes the item and returns V-Bucks. Check Epic’s return and cancellation rules for eligibility.

Where to get help when checks don’t resolve it
Use the organization that processed the payment: PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo support for purchases made through those stores, and Epic support for purchases made through the Epic Games Store. If you contact Epic about an Epic Games Store order, provide the order number, purchase amount, and platform you play on. If no transaction appears in Epic’s history, ask your bank or payment provider to confirm the charge before attempting another purchase.
