First check which app you’re using: Apple Calendar and Google Calendar for iPhone have different sync settings. In Apple Calendar, make sure your Google account is added and its Calendars option is on; then check that the calendar is visible and that new events are assigned to it. If you use Google’s app, troubleshoot that app separately.

Start by identifying the calendar app

Are the missing events supposed to appear in Apple’s built-in Calendar app, or in Google Calendar’s separate iPhone app? Google documents different setup and troubleshooting steps for the two. Google Calendar Help supports both options: syncing Google Calendar with Apple Calendar or using Google’s own app (Google Calendar on a phone or tablet).

Where you expect to see events Start here
Apple Calendar Check the Google account and Calendars setting in iPhone Settings, then check calendar visibility and the event’s assigned calendar.
Google Calendar app Check internet access, app updates, calendar visibility, and whether the event belongs to a calendar associated with your Google Account.

If you use Apple Calendar

1. Confirm the Google account is added and Calendars is enabled

On current iOS versions, open Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts. Confirm your Google account appears and that its Calendars option is enabled. If the account is missing, choose Add Account > Google and sign in. Labels can vary by iOS version; Google’s setup guide describes the path as Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Add Account > Google (Add Google Calendar events to Apple Calendar).

If the account is already there but Calendars is off, turn it on. Google notes that you can switch off other account services if you only want calendar data. Once connected, Google Calendar events can sync directly with Apple Calendar.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

2. Make sure the Google calendar is visible

Open Apple Calendar and check its calendar list. If the relevant Google calendar is unchecked or hidden, its events won’t appear in the view. Select it, then check whether the events show up.

3. Check where each missing event was saved

Connecting a Google account does not make every calendar on the iPhone a Google calendar. In Apple Calendar, open a missing event and inspect its calendar assignment. If it was saved to an iCloud or local calendar, it will not automatically become an event in Google Calendar. Change the event’s calendar to the relevant Google calendar, or create it there.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

4. Choose the right default calendar for new events

Apple Calendar saves new events to the default calendar selected in iPhone settings. If you want new events to go to Google automatically, set the Google calendar as the default: open Settings > Apps > Calendar > Default Calendar and choose the desired Google calendar. You can also select the Google calendar when creating an individual event. Apple documents the default-calendar setting in its Calendar settings guide.

5. Check Fetch New Data if updates are delayed

If events eventually appear but updates are slow, review Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data (the route or labels may differ by iOS version). Fetch schedules apply to accounts that do not support Push; they are not necessarily relevant to every Google setup. Apple says that with Automatically, new data is downloaded when the iPhone is charging and connected to Wi-Fi. A timed fetch schedule is another option (Apple’s Calendar settings guide).

If you use the Google Calendar app

These checks apply to Google’s app, not to Apple Calendar. Try them in order, starting with settings that do not require removing the account (Fix sync problems with the Google Calendar app).

  1. Check your connection. Confirm the iPhone can access the internet, then reopen Google Calendar.
  2. Update the app. Install an available Google Calendar update and check again.
  3. Show the calendar. In the app’s menu, check that the calendar containing the event is selected for display.
  4. Verify the event’s calendar. Open the event and check which calendar it belongs to. Google says an event saved to a calendar not associated with the Google Account might not appear in Google Calendar or at calendar.google.com.
  5. Quit and reopen the app. If the event still does not appear, close and relaunch Google Calendar.
  6. Use account removal or reinstalling only as later steps. Google lists removing and re-adding the account or reinstalling the app as further troubleshooting options. Try the checks above first.

Could the event be too old to appear in Google’s app?

Google’s iOS app troubleshooting guidance says the app syncs past events up to one year; older events can be viewed at calendar.google.com. This stated limit applies to Google Calendar’s iOS app, not generally to Apple Calendar’s connection to Google.

Quick diagnosis by symptom

  • No Google events appear in Apple Calendar: Check that the Google account is present, Calendars is enabled, and the relevant calendar is selected in Apple Calendar.
  • Only new events are missing from Google: Inspect each event’s calendar assignment and the iPhone’s default calendar. New events saved to iCloud or a local calendar are not automatically Google events.
  • Events appear after a delay in Apple Calendar: Check Fetch New Data if the account uses Fetch rather than Push, and note Apple’s Wi-Fi and charging condition for Automatically.
  • Events are missing only in Google’s iPhone app: Check network access, app version, calendar visibility, event destination, and whether the events are older than the app’s stated one-year history.
