If a visual or accessibility setting in Marvel’s Wolverine seems to revert, first update the game and your PS5 system software, then quit and relaunch the game and check the option again. Insomniac’s official notes document fixes for some accessibility behavior and other bugs, but do not identify a settings-persistence defect or a specific fix for settings that reset.
Update the game and PS5 before troubleshooting
Marvel’s Wolverine is a PS5 game. Insomniac’s October 1, 2026 update 1.002.000 says it fixed several accessibility issues involving Navigation Assist, Lock-On, High Contrast, and Screen Reader behavior, as well as addressing some crashes and bugs. The October 6, 2026 update 1.002.001 added a toggle for story-related Scent trails and addressed additional reported bugs and crashes. These updates make checking your installed version a sensible first step, but the notes do not say they fix settings reverting after a restart. See Insomniac’s update notes.
- On the PS5 home screen, highlight Marvel’s Wolverine, press the Options button, and choose Check for Update. Install an available update.
- Check for a PS5 system software update in Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings.
- Quit the game, start it again, and revisit the setting you changed. This is a conservative check, not a confirmed settings-specific repair.
Insomniac’s general support guidance recommends ensuring both the game and console software are current before seeking help. It does not document a dedicated procedure for settings that fail to persist. Insomniac’s support guidance
Identify which setting is reverting
“Visual effects” and “accessibility settings” cover different controls. Write down the exact option name and selected value before changing anything else. Insomniac lists options including Fullscreen Effects, Motion Blur, Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, Depth of Field, Camera Shake, camera controls, visual assists, and High Contrast settings. If the option still shows your chosen value but the image looks unchanged, check what that option affects and whether the effect is noticeable in the current scene. A setting that is present but hard to perceive is different from one whose displayed value has actually changed. Work out when the value changes
Check the option after returning to the menu, then check it again after quitting and reopening the game. Record where the value first changes. This comparison helps describe the problem; official guidance does not establish either point as a known cause.

- It changes when you return to the menu: note the setting and value, then repeat the change once and check the menu again.
- It remains selected in the menu but looks ineffective: record the option and describe what you expected to see. The setting’s visible impact may depend on what is happening on screen.
- It changes only after closing and reopening the game: note whether you closed the game normally, the game version, and the value before and after relaunch.
Contact support if it keeps happening
If the same setting reliably reverts, gather these details before submitting a ticket:
- The exact setting name and the value you selected.
- Whether the value changes upon returning to the menu or only after closing and relaunching the game.
- Your installed game version and whether the game was closed normally.
- What you observed after relaunch, including whether the displayed value changed or only its visual effect seemed different.
Then contact Insomniac support with those details. Insomniac’s general guidance also mentions reloading a previous checkpoint and using an auto-backup save for persistent game issues. Those are general suggestions, not documented fixes for settings that will not save.
